Re: Semi Slick Tyre or other?
My thought that Adrernalin tyre good for my little car. Not mis behave. Road slippery when wet. But at speed limit tyre is confidence and pleasure when wet and slippery ! But not do do more than speed limit, in rain, leave speeding for
track. So I am happy. Thank you Mr Guran for kind recommendation. I hope 1:14 at Wake-field awaits you. Perhaps one day I follow you around the corners. at Wake-field. Or maybe pass!

Pfff. Russ just has a weak digestive system. Last time, Mitchell B came for a ride in the passenger seat and didn't leave anything behind. He was a bit talkative though - must have been the adrenaline kicking in.

I have adrenalins on my little red. Great road tyre, holds well in the wet and rarely spins on launch.
Sounds like you got a good price for them!

I'm using the KU36 currently and I like it a lot. I think I might try the starspec next.

Hi all. Even though the KU31s are cheap but so far been quoted range from $179-220 each tyre for the KU36s.
Any thoughts as don't do track days but do like the performance of a tyre to do what it's suppose to do on a winding road in a MX5......

If the car will only ever see the road then I'd save the money and stick with a road tyre. If you need more grip you should be on a track anyway.

Seriously consider the Dunlop Star Specs, they are a great daily tyre catering for aggressive mountain roads!

I currently use Dunlop SP Sports 01 205/55/16 with mags on a current shape Corolla (wifes) (stock was 15 inch) and seem ok but being a little higher profile dont seem to give the wanted performance, but maybe just the corolla LOL. Which ones are the Star Specs as they dont show up on aussie site only the Dizzera DZ101 not Dizzera Sport Z1 Star Specs as per overseas.
cheers

Re: Semi Slick Tyre or other?
Star specs are difficult to track down in Aus, and even if you can they won't be as cheap as overseas. You can get them from Tirerack.com for about $200-220 shipped (depends on exchange rate at the time).

Mark,
If you want Star Spec's you need go to Gary's Motorsport at 3/13 Penny Place Arndell Park NSW 2148 (02) 9676 8655, the Dunlop Motorsport dealer, but Star Spec's are an over kill for you.
Look at Michelin Pilot Sport 3. The quickest cars at NatMeet were on Michelin road tyres.

We're they the same tyres on a car that spun out on the track around lunchtime .....
I use Michelins Energys on my work VZ wagon and seem to be good wear...
Now for the too many choices.......

Not sure who spun out but you can spin out on any tyre if you exceed the limit of adhesion. We all know that.
