Re: MegaSquirt tune in Perth?
Hey guys,
What are other people using as the boost control output?
http://www.diyautotune.com/diypnp/docs/ ... tputs.html
From what I can tell most people use PA0 but with the 99-00 MX5 this is used for the cooling fans.
I am also running Sequential Injection, am i right in thinking because I am using this I cant use PT6 or PT7?
The 99-00 MX5 also has a flyback diode in place for the IAC output and this is jumpered to the loom for the original IAC valve.
Am I out of outputs and unable to use Boost control via the MS?

Re: MegaSquirt tune in Perth?
If anyone cares or has the same question, answer I got from DIYautotune:
"I would use PA0 for the boost control and use either WLED or ALED for the fans instead."
As ALED is already used for VICS it leaves WLED available.
I will move the fans over to WLED and boost control off PA0.

Re: MegaSquirt tune in Perth?
I've emailed you some guides on how to do the AC idle up and other features.
Figured now is the time to rewire things if you are doing the boost stuff.
Just yell out if it doesn't make sense or you need help.

Re: MegaSquirt tune in Perth?
Car has started and runs!!!
At first it was cranking but not firing, after a few minutes I noticed I couldn’t hear the fuel pump so changed the MS fuel pump output from 4N to 4P and she fired up. Took it for a couple of gentle laps around the block at it drives pretty good for a base tune.
The things I can see that I need to sort out.
1. the Tacho isn’t working in the car (in Tuner Studio it is working fine)
2. the Immobiliser light on the dash board keeps flashing
3. Tuner Studio is saying "Map Sample Error!" down on the bottom right.
The other next thing I need to do is build the Alternator Voltage reg and incorporate this into the system.

So awesome how helpful you guys are.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

http://www.diyautotune.com/diypnp/apps/ ... 8bp-mt.zip
Now it has started I'll flick it over to 3.3 alpha v2.5 and get it back up and running again.
I'll have bit of a play with it and if I am still getting he error i'll take you up on your offer and get you to have a look.

Re: MegaSquirt tune in Perth?
Ok tacho is now working.
I cant do much more until my wideband o2 is delivered (should be this week) and I need to build the alternator voltage reg circuit (just waiting on some of the harder to get transistors to be delivered).
Has anyone used the VE Analyse Live in Tuner Studio? Is it worth paying the $50 and registering the software to get this functionality?

TunerStudio registered!
My wideband O2 has arrived as well.
Just need to get it along with the boost gauge and a-pillar mount all fitted and the voltage regulator finished (still waiting on delivery of some of the components) and I can start tuning.

Re: MegaSquirt tune in Perth?
Just emailed you a zip of the very latest goodness in MS2 - this new release sports the fancy new MS3 style menus and dialogs (much better arrangement of similar functions etc).
I've also included my known working tune that you'll need to adjust for fuel injectors, timing and outputs - overall it should start in cold and have a good stable idle, and the AFR and spark tables are safe start for a solid tune.

Re: MegaSquirt tune in Perth?
Cheers G,
As soon as I get all the hardware finsihed off I'll get the firmware and sorftware sorted out.
Quick question, with your mods and better idle management, do i have to use a processor input/output for the aircond? The reason I ask is I am starting to get rather tight with my input/outputs as I have sequential injection, boost control, VICS control, radiator Fan control.
I also wanted a dash mounted toggle switch to have a high/low boost setting.
Is this all going to be able to fit?
