Ok, so 2 years down the track & the new engine still going well but I'm getting sick of looking at the old one sitting in my shed. So I'm thinking of doing a rebuild with no time pressures. The reason I changed it in the first place was short nose keyway, so I'm hoping to be able to get a big nose crank 2nd hand at some point.
So today I put it on the stand & ripped the head off. This is what I found. Ohh, did I mention it was running like hairy-arsed goat before I changed it out?
From what I can see at this point the bores don't look too bad but we'll see once I've pulled the pistons out.
The head will obviously need some work too, but like I said, this is going to happen over time. I'm not in a rush so as I save some $$$ I'll buy something or get something done. I think I've decided I want to go down the supercharge track with this build, so I'll have lots of questions to ask.
