Re: Psquires 1998 NB8A
I have 3/8th NPT and suitable drill, This is the most common size for this. Unsure if this is the same size.
I dont know tap sizes very well but id gander we are talking about the same thing.
PM me if you are willing to post it back to me.

Re: Psquires 1998 NB8A
So this is the drawing avo sent me for the oil return.
Part number 50 is the part that im assuming is the plug into the sump.
The thread onto that is a 5/8 unf
Dann what do you think?
The connection im using for the oil return is the long brass tube off the bottom of this picture with 5/8 rubber line to the supplied part number 50

Re: Psquires 1998 NB8A
"instructions" from avo
Im using these in conjunction with the fm instructions
http://http://flyinmiata.com/support/instructions/turbos/all_turbos.pdf
Blow off valve drawing for recirculated system
Water plumbing diagram
Manifold to turbo to down pipe diagram
Most of this comes pre assembled from either avo or fm except the down pipe

Re: Psquires 1998 NB8A
After consulting a mate whos a machinist.
I now have in my possesion a 3/8 bpt tap...... Apparently i was chasing the wrong size anyway lol.
I have to admit this drilling the sump part is the part of this that i really am most nervous about.

Re: Psquires 1998 NB8A
So this is where im at
Exhaust and intake are out
Bit of a prick of a time getting the exhaust out theres a bracket that is bolted to the bellhouse / gear box, im assuming to stop the exhaust vibrating against it. Bastard of a thing to get too and the exhaust wont come out in one piece if its there.
While pulling the exhaust out i also pulled a plug out for the heater ........ Not overly happy but it looks like its held in place by a mount to one of the exhaust manifold studs and seals with an o ring and liquid gasket .... This could probably have been avoided if id moved the mount before yanking at the exhaust.
To much enthusiasm.
Heater line can be seen running directly under the exhust ports
Picture is of coolant leaking out
Finally after about 2 hours of head scratching ive decided to delete my air con ( ive never used it as its been out of gas the entire time ive owned the car ) and damn it if its hot put the roof down and drive faster
This made oil bung placement much easier
And some random pictures of dummying up the rest of the hoses.
I still need to get the oil feed line attached.
Im not sure if ill struggle through the wheel well or as im sticking new injectors in at the same time just remove the intake manifold completely. Ill have a better look at it tomorrow after work.
Mean while so so happy ive got that oil drain in. I was absolutely certain id ƒü¢k that up

Re: Psquires 1998 NB8A
Looking good mate.
I've fitted a couple of these problem free, just take your time and get it right the first time.
There's plenty of experience with these kits on here, feel free to ask us all questions if you like.

Re: Psquires 1998 NB8A
Cheers.
Actually 2 questions im looking around for answers for at the moment.
How to get the oil temp sender out easily.
Currently it seems to be either a 17mm short spanner or a 24mm deep socket through the wheel arch
Which belt and where to buy for ps without aircon.
Currently i think i need
M8x1.25x45mm bolt
For ps pump without aircon bracket im guessing bunnings will probably have one
B61P-15-907A ps only belt
Im guessing repco?
