Before we descend into arguing the merits of brushed aluminium interior trim.....

Dann has actually a cogent argument for turbo retrofitting. :o :

a) The SE/Mazdaspeed as stock is a pretty limp-wristed effort at turning our 5 into a performance car.

b) The SP was done in 2001 and turbo/engine management has moved immeasurably forward since then.

I have to agree with Lokiel, I put the SE rocker cove rin the boot of my NA, and I was at least 1 second quicker on the last motorkhana run that I completed. I think I also used less fuel, poiting to the obvious improvement in volumetric efficiency.

NB8A - mostly stock for now

That engine bay is extremely red, looks ok but not my cup of tee.

What diff does Casper run Dann?

I think 5k into a SE can get you similar performance as Casper, assuming your figures on parts and labour.based off the car when purchased @ 180rwkw.

The T25/T28 is a bit long in the tooth now....Seriously, what is a better solution?

There's talk of electric powered turbo chargers (ETC) instead of relying on the exhaust gases. One major automotive brand (I can't recall, either Audi or Porsche) are serioulsy looking into it.

Pros:
Major advantage of this is the elimination of the lag. As the ETC can be programmed to spool up to max levels anytime. All up to the ECU programming.

Cons:
Can be difficult (if not impossible) to retro-fit to cars not designed for it. Kinda like retro-fitting an electric powered power-steering to cars not designed to have it. Plus with cars like the MX5 (with tiny low powered batteries), the cars system might not be up to the task in providing enough juice to power it and all the cars electric functions.
