Auto NA6 TPS

Postby toppertee » Mon Jul 30, 2012 10:41 pm

Gslender and I were all over my MS, like a fat kid on a cup cake on Sunday and were having a few issues with theTPS.

One of the issues is I had way too many the night before.

Also I think the Miata turbo wiring is not quite right. What I found was.

Red wire with black strip and dots to the car harness, not the one which is red with black dots. There are two red wires on the auto tps, the other red wire from the auto tps from looking at the OEM wiring diagram gets a signal from the air flow meter in series. So with the auto it must be looking for an airflow plus TPS position, I guess? Those zanny little Japanese engineers.

Black tps to black car harness

Green tps to green car harness.

You should get a nice smooth from open to close .5K ohms to .8K ohms, across the Signal wires.

I've not fired up my MS to double check, but I'm thinking this may be one of the issues with people having problems with the Auto NA6 tps. I hope this may help others.
Cheers
