There are some inconsistent messages going around here. The "Important Update" in the email from the club on 20 July didn't mention anything about paying the security deposit (i.e. up front charge of $80 with $60 refunded on return) and we weren't charged the deposit the last time. See below:

IMPORTANT UPDATE

As you are aware by now, the new timing system at Queensland Raceways has seen some teething troubles. The system itself works great, but getting enough transponders for us to buy has challenged QR. At the last track day it was announced we could rent the transponder (sale price ($80) for $20 which would both see us complete the day successfully and represent a down payment of $20. So in theory if you paid that last time you would only need cough up $60 and you would have your own transponder. For the track day scheduled for the 23rd we will again need to rent the device for $20. The administrators at QR have offered their apologies, but they believe until they receive a good batch of transponders they should not offer any for sale. So where does that leave us. Simply, if you paid $20 last track day and pay $20 this track day when the transponders are available you will only need pay the balance of $40. If it turns out we must rent for another 2 track days after this one then we will simply be issued a transponder.

For Monday you will need bring the extra $20 to rent a transponder.

will you need to have some way of attaching or will they supply it?

They had some zip ties to tie it on the front number plate or similar place at the last event. It would be worth bringing one or two with you just in case.

Being around an hours drive from lakeside. Does anyone know the last available BP petrol station near to lakeside. Travelling from ipswich to lakeside via Gateway bridge.
Prefer BP to other brands.

If you take the Anzac Avenue offramp north of the Pine Rivers Bridge there is a BP on the right in Kallangur, you can fill there then continue along Anzac Avenue to the water tower and then turn right and follow maybe 5-6 minutes, can't miss the turn off opposite Dakabin Rail Station and road in is signed and goes thru the middle of the Pine Rivers Golf Course and follow your nose!!

Hope this helps!!
