Lindsay's NA6
So a couple of weeks back i picked up this 89 NA6 for what i think was a good price. Sold my old daily and wanted something fun i can play with on the side aswell.
Plan is to clean it up a little, new interior parts etc. Paint, Wheels, Suspension of some sort and exhaust. And remove the soft top as it makes the car smell like an old wet sh*t tent, and it also came with a hard top
Pics of it at the moment. Has a garage vary front lip aswell and a couple of little things. As you can tell from the pics the paint is well flocked.
And here is my other car which i have built, and is dríven to work and the shops:

Re: New here....My 89 NA6
thanks guys. Other than it being a lot slower than the 180sx, it is deff a fun car to drive and play with the gears. Plan is to keep it a fun reliable daily for uni and back. But i can see myself driving it more than the 180sx already.
Put on the front lip today and had a look at the soft top removal, looks like a need a special tool/ hex sorta tool to remove the hard top brackets first?
Should sort out paint for it asap, either going to just stay white or would like something different like a nice black maybe.

Welcome mate! Tbe NA is an awesome project car and is so easy to work on. Let's see how long yours last as a daily driver before the obsession takes hold. Nice 180 too.

Re: New here....My 89 NA6
that's possibly the least paint i've seen on a early NA, well done!
i like your 180 too, a good portion of the views in your FS thread on JDMST are probably mine.
you need Torx bits for the soft top latches. just as easy to find as hex keys if you don't have them.

Re: New here....My 89 NA6
So as for the mx5, purchased some C.E.S extractors off koop21 on here and will put them on as soon as they arrived. Have ordered a magnaflow cat/ resonator/ muffler from the states and will hit a mate Nathan @ Fabulous-Fabrications in brisbane to fab up the rest of the exhaust sometime. Got an ASI rad and new thermo fan switch as the old one was flocked and the rad was dirty as sh*t. Also picked up a K&N filter for now. As well as nb seats, new floor mats, dash mat, leather handbrake and gear gaitors and a rubber boot/seal for the shifter as it didn't have one and well the noise and heat coming through was annoying. Cleaned up the interior a little and going to get some new door cards and wrap them in suede or something.
Will get it painted when my mate has time. But other than that will have to wait and see how i am for money after japan. Keeping an eye out for some wheels at a decent price, and thinking about suspension options.

Re: New here....My 89 NA6
Wow, you transformed that Nissan from a mardi gras float to a seriously tough buck eighty!
Can't wait to see how the Mx turns out! great wheel choice.
Don't rush to paint it... The " so fast it tears the paint off" look is so hot right now
All the best with it!
Scotty

Re: New here....My 89 NA6
Have purchased some parts for this over the last month and tired to give it a little TLC. Have also bought tyres, so just waiting on the wheels to arrive. Replaced coolant sensor, radiator hoses, fuel filter.
Fortune Auto coilovers:
Was to low so have raised it since this:
C.E.S extractors on, Will be making up a heat shield.
And exhaust parts have arrived, just need to get exhaust made up now. Will also hopefully be making up a new intake system aswel
