You can buy numbers from 'Extreme Motorsport' on Toombul Road, Northgate if you want to make them up yourself, I think about $4 each number

Mine are mounted on magnetic pads which I then tape around once on the car, just in case they 'blow off' over 235kph!! [I wish!!]

from the comp spreadsheet - no one has used 79.

I had some magnetic sheets made up - I will donate them to whomever can take them away from me this year! :D
Give it your best shot!!!! The Top Spot is still well and truly up for the taking!

Can you create paper sheets that you stick on with tape (gaffer tape keeps planes in the air you know!) ??

How big does the lettering need to be? On an A4 paper landscape at full size or bigger? Or maybe a digit per A4 with two mounted portrait-wise taped to the side of the car?

.... :| :| I'm now wondering if gaffer tape will stick too much to the paint work :? :?

1 A4 sheet Landscape is fine
Make numbers large as possible in simple easy to read font
I have always used elctrical tape. Comes off pretty easy. Sometimes leaves a bit of sticky to clean off later.

I got a roll from 'Supercheap', see me Monday and there is plenty if you want to use it - has never hurt my paintwork, peels off easy - also carry scissors etc!!

I made my number using the text function in MS Paint and pasted that jpeg into a landscape word document, printed and laminated it. I use cheap masking tape to stick it to the door. Alternatively, leave your right window up and stick it on there.

Sweet! I'll bring lekky tape and me A4 paper signs, but will check out your stuff too and may borrow some if ok. I'm thinking I'll be bringing a suitcase of stuff with me. Some tools, food, drinks, towel, shirts, camera, laptop, phone chargers etc.

Plus chair! Can we steal some 240v somewhere or does everything need to be 12v car supply only?

Very excited!!

I'm not happy reading this thread whilst I'm still in WA :(

For the first timers going you will drive away with a smile that will not go away for weeks.

Dont get too caught up with all the other stuff - remember to enjoy the driving bit! :D
You will find the afternoon goes really fast, and you probably wont find much time to mess with laptops reviewing videos etc

Just washed the car (dont know why?) now just have to fit harness and swap wheels

Careful if just paper, in case there are a few sprinkles!! First thing will be check if Lakeside has a 'prepped' '79' available, but still go ahead, part of the fun is prepping for the day!! I think you can get 240v from the kiosk but not sure, most have 12v stuff

Your hype is like I was before my first day!! You start counting from about 8 weeks out, funny thing is I still do!! Spare batteries for the camera, all the gear!!

Mowing lawns now and dealing with a cat that thinks SHE is in charge!! Neighbours over the road think there is a 'domestic' happening!! Been to my Toyota Dealer this morning, NOT happy that all 86's from 1 October will NOT have a spare wheel!! Mine is scheduled for October build so now checking on availability of a spare alloy or whether the current Corolla 16" steel 5-stud will fit

IMPORTANT NOTICE

I'm just back from a day at Lakeside, unfortunately their supply of timing transponders to be available for purchase have NOT arrived from the US and as such we will be 'renting' again tomorrow. The charge is $80 with $60 refundable on return. If you rented at QR last track day and again tomorrow, that will REDUCE the final purchase price to $40. They do have some 'pre-used' rushed from the US but Neil would prefer not to sell these at the recommended price.

Great day watching morning practice and then the afternoon sprints, was situated against the fence between the footbridge and 'Hungry' corner when an EVO decided to lose it thru the 'Bus Stop' sideways under the bridge and connected with the fence right in front of us!! Now that WAS scary!! Considerable damage to the EVO, driver OK

See you all tomorrow, if the weather is similar to today there was a cool southerly breeze blowing that made it quite cool!

All packed for tomorrow. Unfortunately because this manifold flows so much more we had to drop timing back 4* to make it as safe as possible. So no where near the same power but oh we'll will interesting to see how it goes :D
