Hi,
I recently purchased a NA8 Tombstone for my NA6 so that the head unit could sit flush and not have a a gap.
I was wondering how in this picture, the head unit surrounding area here http://mx-5.sabretooth.id.au/audio/headunit2.jpg gets magically covered like this http://mx-5.sabretooth.id.au/audio/new3.jpg when it is installed?
Currently, with my head unit installed in the NA8 console, it still sits like it does in the first picture. Is there a part or something I need to do to make it look like the second picture?
FYI, I have not purchased the storage pocket yet.
Thanks
Brendan

Re: NA8 Tomstone Install
i believe you actually need the NA8 tombstone from a 1995.5 to 1997 year model. The gap is 2din tall unlike the weird 2.5 from earlier years.

Umm, I just bought a NA8 Tomstone? http://www.mx5plus.com.au/part_display.php?part=7&cat=9
It fits fine, but the area around the head unit doesnt have a trim bit if that makes sense.

You mean the plastic rectangle trim piece that sits around the head unit?
They are usually supplied with the head unit.

Thanks, I was starting to think that myself. It wasnt there when I got the car!
Do you know if they are generic and can be bought or not? It might be an excuse to get a new head unit:) Even though this one cost $1000 when new lol.

i have 2 different trim pieces, a sony and a pioneer, they are both different enough.
No idea how well the generic ones would fit.
