Wouldn't be the first, for sure. The rent-a-racer that I crewed on for the WP 300 used pop rivets :shock:

JBT, was the bracket made for your NC?

No, the bracket in that pic is for the NA when I had it.

The NC one is shown in the attached photo. It will fit either seat and is currently on the pax side (driver;s side in the pic). It is a steel bar drilled for the seat mount bolts, which need to be replaced with longer ones. The bar is also drilled and tapped for machine screws to attach the firex mount.

Any reason an NB cant use a slim plate like the one in JBTs NC?

Was the wider plate to allow the seat to travel further forwards?

It looks like the NC brackets are slightly more vertical than the NB, meaning the extinguisher clears the seat.

on the NB if fitted the same it would hit the seat (or the seat would foul the bracket, meaning you couldn't get the enxtinguisher out)

However, you can use the same method, just make the mounting plate a little longer so it doesn't hit the seat.

Yes looks like that way.

I think I will go the slimmer plate and just sacrifice being able to have the seat all the way forward (tall pasengers only need apply....)

The NC seat doesn't clear the firex with that mount I have. I moved it to the pax side as that seat stays fully back - except for cleaning behind it which simply means removing the firex from the mount at those times. Mrs JBT doesn't complain about it when she's in the left seat as she has it fully back and the right seat can be moved forward when she drives the car.
