Details on thermostat and spacer? Where from, shipping dollars and reason for spacer?
Also do your self. Favour and get an unloved or cheap 15mm? Spanner for the butterfly brace. The slots are too short for most spanners so grind the shank down.
Also be prepared to panel beat your rails back into shape.

Well another update:
Butterfly brace installed, pads/rotors changed, brake ducts insatlled, thermostat installed, radiator fan switch/plug replaced, passenger side harness bolts installed, drivers side crotch harness bolts installed and the soft top removed. All that was recoverable from the soft top was the frame as the soft top itself was falling apart. Work done as per normal by MX5 Plus.
This is the last of the body changes all money now being saved for engine change.

Front disc/pad (ducting in the background), not posting a photo of the rear because they look the same.

Thermostat

Brake ducts (posted on another thread as well). Ypu van also see the BC Racing ER coilovers and the 24mm sway bar.


Butterfly brace installed, pads/rotors changed, brake ducts insatlled, thermostat installed, radiator fan switch/plug replaced, passenger side harness bolts installed, drivers side crotch harness bolts installed and the soft top removed. Well another donation made for the following:
*Changed front and rear rotors and front brake pads. Fit trackspeed engineering brake ducts while apart. Could not finish install of duct pipe as more fabrication required. Made template and will manufacture for next visit.
*Fit butterfly brace as per 'Flyin' Miata' instructions. Modified exhaust to clear brace.
*Fit all harness mounts and eyelets to both drivers and passengers floor.
*Removed soft-top from vehicle.
*Hard-top mounts ok, padded rollbar to stop squeak.
*Installed 'Maruha' thermostat and adaptor. Replaced fan switch. Bled coolant.
*Wired in Innovate and water temp gauges. Supplied and fit 3 gauge holder.
*Fit brake master brace. Changed proportioning valve to NB unit.
*Removed rear sway bar.
*Fan switch dead on arrival. Replace with another after testing. Bled coolant. Tested OK
The other hald drove it from Aspley to home (I'm still in WA) and she absolutley loved driving the car and can't believe how different it is now. I think her attitude may change if she ever found out the real cost of the car.

Not really a gargae update, but a start them young photo (that is a MX5 NA in his hands, I gave it to him for his birthday as well as the helmet). Plus he wants to come on the next club run and next track day.

Not yet. I'm still in WA (not home till 03/08). It would appear that the previous temp issue was more likely related to the replaced switch and an intermitent connection problem. I also had another temp guage installed to see what the actual temp is so I'll post some feedback after Morgan Park as this should give it a good workout. At my first track day it had some overheating issues (by the guage) however the engine did not smell hot, but better safe than sorry.

Well not much has been done to the NA a few parts are on order (Innovate DL-32 data logger, 6 speed gearbox, areo catch and new lug nuts) and a few parts are on the wish list (Garage Vary air deflectors, another set of rims and tires). My NA now is now chalk and cheese with my sons stock NA neither have any real engine mods rather the difference is in how they handle and the confidence that mine gives when pushing it. There is no way I could drive my sons car the same way I drive mine and that makes me happy because all the mods have had an impact:)
I would say that the butterfly brace and the roll bar do make a difference as the handling at Morgan Park was more positive than the track day at Queensland Raceway. However the real test will be the next track day at Queensland Raceway as I will be able to have a comparison (times, speeds, braking etc).
However the decision has been made on the engine. My expectations are as follows, natural aspirated, 90 rwKw at 5,000, 130 rwKw at 7,500, redline at 8,500 and a nice flat torque curve. The existing engine will be tested and the same dyno that will be used to tune the new engine so percentage change can be noted and if it was really worth it

Details on expected engine specs? I guess / assume itbs from jenvy. 11:1 pistons, balanced headwork and porting.

I'll post the specs soon, however no ITB's as can't have them under 2F. Anyway swapped the budget from the ITB's to a 6 speed (I could not do both). I posted my expectations before the build has been finalised so that I have something to aim for. However yes high compression and running on 98 octane, not sure on E85 yet.
By the way the Maruha thermostat worked like a treat no overheating issues at Morgan Park no more than about 100 degrees.
