Dave, have you tried sitting in one of those?

I found that the hip-width was barely OK but the shoulder-width was way too narrow (the wings were too narrow for my shoulders), so much so that my back never actually touched the back of the seat .

Thought I'd ask my question by resurrecting this thread rather than starting a new one, I hope that's the right way to do it.

I’m looking at getting a Racetech 4009 for an NC (heading down to Melbourne on Saturday to hopefully pick a car up I’ve been looking at, woohoo!) however at 6’1 I’m slightly too tall for the seat since the Harness Guides are below my shoulder by a few cm’s which is accentuated when wearing a HANS device, I do have a preference for the Racetech seat as the seat fits perfectly apart from that and the wings are wider than most seats which suits my broad shoulders.

The ‘tall’ head restraint version was a perfect fit for me however I didn’t want the head restraint so I am left with two options to fit the RaceTech seat:
- They can provide me with a 4009 with less padding (shaved or replaced depending on requirements).
- RaceTech can modify a 4009THR to come without the head restraint (it will then be about 5cm taller but should still fit below the roll bar).

Coming from an Evo I don’t have much MX-5 context so my question for you guys is with a race seat do you feel like you want to be lower than you are with the seat installed in the NC or do you think it’s spot on?
