Injectors.?
So I'm hunting around looking for a place to get some injectors.
I'm after either 460cc or 550cc that sort of area. Preferably the ones that are plug and play with the standard mx5 fuel rail and Harness
Does any one know a place in Sydney?
Or I've got a mate that works for Bosch. So if any one knows the Bosch part number for the rx8 injectors or the rx7 550cc that would be very useful
Or if any one has a set lying around that they'd like to sell me
Cheers
Paul

Re: Injectors.?
Both RX7 and RX8 injectors are Denso. AFAIK there are no Bosch injectors that have the Denso-style connector that will plug and play with the MX5 injector harness.
Ebay is a good place to look, as is MT.net and miata.net. Look on the US eBay in particular as sets come up all the time and the shipping on injectors is relatively cheap. Make sure you get units that have been cleaned and flow tested and come with new seals.
Otherwise, consider some aftermarket units (like Deatschwerks) with adapter harnesses - they work fine too.

Yeah the research I've been doing backs up the denso info unfortunately, bugger was hoping to get them on the cheap
Does any one have any feedback on the ebay ones? I'm just pretty cautious with eBay car bits

Re: Injectors.?
The RX-7 Densos are based on the old school Bosch EV1 design (same style as the stock NA injectors), the RX-8 Densos are based on the EV6 (like NB injectors), and all the "cool kids" run EV14 injectors these days (ID1000 and the like).
Each successor results in better fuel atomisation resulting in smoother idle, more power, hotter girls, etc.

Re: Injectors.?
I wouldn't be using rotary injectors in a piston engine. Rotary injectors are designed to shoot long and narrow, pistons are designed to shoot short and wide. You can choose to take it on board or not, just thought worth mentioning.

I've read that too. However I've also read that basically every second person is using them with success

Re: Injectors.?
RX8s will idle better. I much prefer the RX8 injectors to the 550cc RX7 red tops I had on my old car, especially at idle.
They flow better than 460cc too. Closer to 500cc according to my flow test results.

Re: Injectors.?
Try the orange top injectors from a Mazda Familia (323) 1.8L GTR or BG8Z GT-Ae. They are 440cc minimum & go up to 550cc. They are a Group A rally homologation & are fitted with a BP engine using a big turbo (IHI VJ23) from the factory. Those engines made about 156 kilowatts flywheel in standard form.

Re: Injectors.?
I have a set of 550cc low impedance RX7 injectors with pigtails which I'd let go cheap, I'm also in Sydney if you want to pick them up. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.
