Oil sandwich plate in Brisbane?

My BP motor is a later model that doesn't have the oil feed like the NA8 and early NA6.

I'm not really happy with the t-piece oil feed off my oil pressure sender. I've got a leak down there which I could fix but it's a real pain trying to fit a spanner in there under the intake manifold/starter motor/doing arm gymnastics under a car when my arms are all too long. ...... If I fix it now I'm sure I'll have to get down there in the future which will probably lead to me removing the intake manifold to tighten a bolt.

So I'm thinking of fitting an oil sandwich plate or oil filter relocation because it's a more accessible part of the engine bay.

Could somebody advise where I could purchase one today in Brisbane? I've found one at Option1 (suspect Nissan ones are different) and a RX8 one at Mazfix at Springwood. Both are around $150 just for the plate which seems a bit exy? Unsure if the RX8 one would fit either.

Jerrah,

I've just handed MX5 Mania some Works Engineering stock - they have both the sandwich plate and the filter relocation kits. Please check the price with them.

Thanks Bryan, really wanted to find one today (last day of leave from work to get project finished) - I had already found a few in Sydney. I will investigate though.

Solution:

2nd hand sandwich plate from MX5 Plus.
Fittings from Enzed.

I think it makes a better solution than using adapters off the oil pressure sender port.

WARNING: You may have issues with threads.

The GREX/GREDDY (being Japanese) blocks typically use 1/8" BSP-28 (British Standard Pipe, 28 Threads Per Inch) threading.

Many sensors (being typically USA-sourced) use 1/8" NPT-27 (American National Pipe, 27 Threads Per Inch) threading.

These are NOT interchangeable so you may need to buy adapters for the sensors.

I had these issues when I did my oil cooler install (see http://mx5cartalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=41091&start=173) :(

These look ok for 25 bucks+ship and has the NPT fittings.

Thank you for the warning. :-) I've already spent time learning about the NTP and BSP threads through my oil pressure feed / t-piece.

I'm actually going massive potential underkill with the sandwich plate (I guess i could throw in an oil temp sensor and a oil cooler) and I'm only using it to feed the turbo.

As such I got a BSP fitting to my turbo line from Enzed and everything has fitted perfectly.

Nice, you get a turbo oil feed plus provision for oil temp and pressure. Sounds like a win.
