Speaker Installation NA6

Postby locksmack » Tue Jun 26, 2012 5:17 pm

Hey Guys,

I'm after a recommendation for a car audio installer in Melbourne (preferably somewhere in the north/west) that can install a pair of splits and amplifier for me in my NA6. I have the speakers, amp and wiring kit already.

I installed the headunit myself, which was a massive pain in the butt (thanks to the previous owner) and I think I would rather pay someone to do the rest for me. I have already run the RCA and signal cables from the head unit to the boot. I require new speaker wire to be run to replace the old stuff (speaker wire supplied by me).

So if anyone knows of a good installer, please let me know. Also an idea of cost would be great.

Cheers.

and

2 of the best. As far as cost for installing anything from $200-$800 depending on sound deadening, proper rewiring act, and the quality you are willing to pay for. You can get it done cheaper at the chain audio shops but you get what you pay for unfortunately.

Thanks Dann, though I haven't heard the best things about JBs installs.

I can't help thinking that you work at JB (think I read it in another thread). If so, no offense intended to you.

Speaker installs are very easy! I can do them and I won't try an HU install!

As for mega buck installs, I've had the opportunity to sample a very cheap install using recycled carpet underlay for sound deadening. The install belongs to someone very well known in the industry and was done to disprove a lot of the fallacies around needing large sums of money to get quality sound.

Hey Guys, just an update. I ended up installing it all myself (with my brother inlaws help). It is one of those things that is much easier than it seems - there is a mental barrier to overcome. That said, it did take us 7 hours to complete:P At least we know it is done right.

I do have a question though, any ideas how I can mount my tweeters without cutting anything? At the moment they are sitting at the base of the A pillars, temporarily stuck on with double sided tape until I can figure out a better option. Thoughts?

Gotta say, it sounds awesome!
