That's what I thought, i can't find any aftermarket ones outside of the US. I'm just gonna go with the genuine ones from miataroadster

many of the parts equivalents are not accurate. The retailers refer to the lists not prepared by them - but at least locally if the item is not the right one you do not pay for it. Even fan belts and gaskets like cam cover may not be correct. At least with Mazda you get the right part- they normally check VIN for right model.

There were aftermarket ones in Aus until recently, however they are the wrong thread on the tie rods. I would go with genuine too. Can't remember the brand of the incorrect ones though, sorry.

I can't remember, but wasn't that just Rods? rod-ends were the same thread for all MX5s werent they?

Yup. Hence why I said wrong thread on the tie rods. The ball joints are the ends.

At the time, manual steering components were very scarce in Australia and were top dollar. I discovered the aftermarket tie rods had the wrong thread that goes into the rack when I was swapping them one night. Can't confirm on the ends (ball joints) though, as I didn't go any further with changing them when I found the wrong thread (kind of no point).

At the time it was easier and cheaper for me to just send the girl off for power steering. :shock: Probably as I have an exceptional relationship with one of the wreckers and they do me parts for dirt cheap. :mrgreen:
