Re: saboteur's NB
Head has been torqued down now, plus water and oil pumps are on:
I decided to go with the BP6D oil pump (used on the VVT models and the SE) as it can flow more and is a bit beefier.
One other change I've made is swapping to a JDM tacho; it makes the redline area much easier to see with your peripheral vision on track days:
It is an easy swap to do however you will find the 0-2 area not as well lit as the rest of the gauge. The Australian cluster doesn't have anything in this area so there's no provisions for a bulb or light to get through. I don't find it to be a problem.

Looking good Tim!! Will it be ready for 23 July? Also, are you adding a turbo?

Thanks Roger.
The car itself may be ready for the 23rd but it is unlikely I will have it fully run in and tuned by then.

Looks really shiny compared to my new motor! Hopefully see mine started this week. Turbo bolts = argh. Supercharger was heaps easier.

If your motor is still on the engine stand I think I saw it today. How long before it's in your car?saboteur wrote:

I have been told it will be ready by Monday, so we will look at booking in a time after that for the transplant. Getting pretty excited!

Saw the assembled engine a few hours ago when I stopped in at Automotive Industries [MX5 Plus] looks great!! Love the cam cover, just like mine!! That really sets it off Tim - well done!

Awww, I reckon it should have been painted "louder", that way it would have looked faster!

I'm using an SE head and SE head gasket, so the reroute isn't as critical:

I wanted to keep it looking fairly sedate.

Yeah it does look pretty smart and thanks for the compliment! Saw sab's on Saturday when I called in, looks just great, Jason was also saying every refresh/rebuild they do will have the same done, well worth the small cost involved
