Re: saboteur's NB
Charlie has been through enough wheels to know a few well!
The offset is +25mm. We put some 8" +20mm wheels on BitRusty's track car and it was a fair bit of guard pulling, but I haven't touched the guards at all on this NB (not even rolled). Amazing how much difference 5mm offset makes. The tyres are 205/50R15 595RS-Rs.
I'll let you know after the 30th (Lakeside track day) if I need to roll them.
Thanks for the complements on wheel choice!
Cheers

Re: saboteur's NB
No rubbing at the track day, very impressed with the wheels!
I have since lowered the car a bit more than in that first pic, still no issues.
MX-5 Plus "tall boy" ROPS fitted.
Engine is a bit tired and is down on power, but a new build is now in the works!

Saboteur
Just fitted new wheels to my NB as well, got '949 Racing' 15 x 7.5 [matte black] with new KU36's on them - wasn't too sure about the 15 x 8 as mine sits pretty low!! The NA now has the 'King Zero' alloys that were on the NB fitted also with KU36's, the ride now in the NA is incredible!! I've done the roundabout thing thru my suburb and surrounds [at LEGAL speed!] and they feel great, and the ride is much softer than before even without touching the KYB AGX which are still set on '4'
I told JF at MX5 Plus i'd had it to 6000rpm and he said go harder! Wow, makes for fun entering the M1 at the Bribie Interchange!!

Good stuff Roger! Have you got a spare set of rims you can put some semis on? They make a world of difference.

No engine updates yet, but it was a nice day so took a new pic of the car. I just replaced the first image in the thread with it. I only had my camera phone with me unfortunately.

From that angle, it looks like you took it just before passing out drunk in the gutter
More proof that bronze rims on a green MX5 look awesome.

More engine progress!
Slugs, rods and crank in with ARP fasteners throughout:
Rotating assembly was balanced, you can see the holes drilled in the crank in the pic above.

Roger unfortunately I don't have the time to do this kind of work these days, Jason from MX-5 Plus is doing a great job however. Machining work and balancing has been carried out by Chilton Engineering.

Re: saboteur's NB
The stock setup goes alright, however my engine is very tired hence the build.
Here is the clutch I will be running:
It is a modified Exedy built by Direct Clutch and is bolted to a Toda 1600 flywheel. Hopefully this combined with the 6 speed and 4.1 final ratio will be quite fun to drive!
