I'm a city boy with a desk job.

find "paint.exe"

Right click, uninstall.

download and install "clean_caliper.exe"

:P

Or for the uber-geeks:

su: rm-r paint
With two laps to go then the action will begin, unless this is the action, which it is.

libraries and places like Supercheap have diy books on most automotive subjects including body and paint work. Written by pros it takes one thru all sorts of processes and explains products. Many workshop manuals also have sections on body repairs etc.

It's actually 'sudo rm -r paint' or 'su -c "rm -r paint"' assuming it is a directory. :P

A wire brush/wheel on an angle grinder will get rid of it all in about 30 seconds.

Might need a recoat afterwards though.

I've found this style of sanding wheel are easier to control and less chance you'll loose skin.

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

I've used these on thin panels, they're deadly on paint without marking the metal underneath

This is the stuff I used in the end:

It's quite thick which is good, you can selectively brush it on without getting it on the rubbers or other components.
