i personally think the engine is rejecting your custom manifold because it wants a supercharger on top instead :mrgreen:

Thanks Gladiator, yeah I'm doing mechanical engineering at uni.

Both good ideas, though I'd lean toward the supercharger since I already have one and it might actually make this swap worth while, power wise anyway :lol:

It's a week until my last exam so I took this afternoon to do a bit more welding. The new gas is working well but now I have an issue with the foot pedal control which I haven't noticed before. The first 10% of pedal travel increases the amperage, the rest does nothing. It makes no difference at all whether you're at 20% or 100%. I'm going to take it back to the company I bought the welder from and have it repaired/replaced.

This is as far as I got with the new manifold

OK I'm on holidays now so I can finish the car. I'm part way through making a washer tank to go in the boot as there's not a lot of room in the engine bay. I'll post pics of that tonight when it's finished (hopefully). After that all that's left is to crank up the welder and put the finishing touches on the intake manifold and do the intake piping, which is fairly straight forward.

The wheels I was given for my birthday arrived today! They're 13x8 +20 V2 Competition wheels, they fit over the 1.8 NB brakes

Make an alloy Nopro washer bottle for the windscreen cowl. Like this one (not sure if link works). Looks rather simple;

That's a good idea but I've 90% finished my boot mounted washer bottle. I've put a new hose under the carpet and I'm going to use a wire which was part of a previous alarm install which runs to the boot.

New intake manifold just finished. It doesn't look like it flows well, the plenum is too small, the runners are too long and it looks like shite but it should at least work.

A couple of wire extensions and reassembling the front bodywork and I'm ready for tuning.

I've signed up for a semester of TIG welding classes at TAFE, 4 hours every thursday night. Hopefully that will improve my welding

I bought 20L of E85 on the way back from uni today, any tips on tuning? With any luck the car will move under it's own power for the first time in ~8 months in the next few days.

I've also booked my emissions test for the first available spot at Botany, 1st of August
