CTP extension costs (Qld)

Postby adidistyle » Tue Jun 12, 2012 1:31 pm

As I am about to choose a new CTP insurer, I thought I might run a "poll" and find out what the various CTP insurers charge for CTP extensions. That's gotta be useful information fr everyone. So if you know the answer, please fill in below, with any important comments.

1. Allianz
2. AAMI
3. IAG (NRMA)
4.QBE
5. RACQ $10 per event (not sure about multi-day events)(and it takes 15min+ at an office, due to thier woeful software and infrequent use!)
6. Suncorp

Cheers all,

I rang NRMA this morning [07-3352 3581] spoke with Gillian, gave rego details and date required for, nothing a problem at all and emailed within 2-3 mins to my email - no charge! There is also a 1800 number but that is now located in Sydney who have no idea what you are talking about! While Gillian and I have spoken a few times before I was asked to confirm DOB, address and email. Her office is located in Stafford

I'd suggest NRMA for what it's worth! :D

Allianz charge $10 per day, so a two day hillclimb would cost $20.

I have Suncorp - I just email the request and they email the extension letter back within 48 hours...no charge of course

I switched to Suncorp (from Allianz) prior to my last registration because of this additional cost at Allianz.

Also Suncorp responded with this today

Unfortunately, we are unable to arrange the rally extension at this time as the request needs to be made within 30 days of the event taking place as per legislation.

AAMI $10 confirmed.

I switched to Suncorp 4 years ago for free extensions.

Not sure which one, but not only do you have to pay, they require you go personally to collect it!!

I was lucky I had all mine with NRMA and bonus that their service is so prompt! I'm sure if I asked for coffee she would have attached and emailed that as well! [when I rang she was just making coffee for a customer and apologised that she would be a few secs]

How'd you get free for AAMI when 2 people have said it is $10 and no one has said it was free?
