Hey guys need some help on this matter.
I've talked to Bethania Garage (Hard Dog) and they say they can make the necessary modifications I requested to comply with Schedule J requirements.
BTW this is for a M2 Hard Dog Hard Core Single Diagonal on my SE
Is that all I need to comply?
-Move the main hoop diagonal so that it is within 100mm of the rear stay and main hoop intersection, like Drawing J-18 in 13.1.
Everything else seems to be within spec. Material, OD of tube, thickness, base plate thickness, etc.
My only concern would be:
-Angle of rear stays
-bolt spacing and the angle
Not looking at any serious racing atm, I just prefer the US style bars and after talking to Hard Dog, price isn't that much more compared to the Australian alternatives.
Even if I don't end up getting this bar I think it would be nice to have some info for others whom might also be interested in these bars, but are unsure of some of the specs.

What sort of cost are they quoting and how much would shipping be? I would be very syrprised if it comes in THAT much cheaper than buying a MX5+ bar.

Rough initial prices I have atm:
$455 + $75 to make the changes I want done, but I'm still enquiring about this. Shipping is the most expensive part. $725 for 1 bar, but $950 for 2 bars in one transaction.
So with current exchange rate, bar comes in at just under $1150 per bar if 2 are bought including import duty fees and GST.
However if prices for the bar drop below 500 each then overall prices drop significantly.
Not cheaper, but not nearly as much as people make it sound like it is.

mounting points are also more indepth, going thru the parcel tray etc.
the bars appear of great quality, but for $1100 could you give the plans to a local welder and get him/her to build you the desired bar cheaper, with similar fitment?

Valid point. That is a possibility for me. However I'm not too familiar with any fabricators in Perth.
Anyone want to chime in with the wealth of knowledge?
I kinda went with the idea that anything custom in WA costs a fair bit

There are any number of fabricators who have built CAMS-compliant cages, and are familiar with the requirements of our favourite sanctioning body. Why not talk to one/some of them?

Even a basic drawing of a CAMS compliant bar interstate would be cheaper.
I almost purchased the bossfrog double hoop bars, which are really expensive to bring across. I ended up sourcing locally.

Rollcages CAN be expensive but it depends on materials used, surface finishing, complexity etc. Certainly I would rather pay for a local product that is built by blokes who are on top of the latest regulations.

I have not had any dealings with any of the above apart from buying a few bits from Searle but they are all known around the various car scenes in Perth.
One other thing to consider. Unless you are specifically entering comeptition that calls for the car to be CAMS log booked or that it must have CAMS approved ROP you could still use a roll bar from the states as it will never be inspected for compliance with the CAMS manual. You would only be knocked back entry if the organisers thought the roll bar looked obviously dangerous.
