Yuge's 1.7L NA6
Been lurking on this forum for quite some time.
Finally decided to put up my build thread
Started life as a simple 1.6L with simple mods like coilovers and exhaust.
Then finally one day the timing belt decides to snap prematurely
Decided i will go ahead with my plans for a major overhaul, so now a 1.7L engine sits below the hood
Running on Haltech PS1000 pushing 104kw atw
- Toda 1.7L pistons
- Toda 272 cams in/ex, 9 lift
- Toda Cam gears
- Toda Inner-shim kit
- Toda Timing Belt
- Toda Head Gasket
- M-tuned Conrods
- M-tuned coolant reroute system
- EFI Hardware quad throttle
- Maximworks Header
- Toda Clutch and Flywheel
- Custom exhaust by Haks@Performance Exhaust Centre Northmead
- 2way Tomei LSD
- AEM Air/Fuel Ratio Gauge
- Lightyear CF Roof
- Momo Prototipo Steering wheel
- Autoexe gearknob
- Mazdaspeed Rollbar
- Flyin' Miata Butterfly Brace
- Carbing 3 point Front Brace
- Carbing 2 point Rear Brace
- Cusco 2E coilovers
- Cusco Front and Rear Swaybars
- Energy Suspension Bushing all round
- 2 x Genuine Bride VIOS III Seats and rails
- 14 x 6.5 Black Watanabe Rims
Exterior of car nothing to be proud of haha.
Will get some photos up some time in future.
Recently took the car to wakefield and achieved a 1'14.4 on old RE001.

Future plans include getting some 15x8 rims and some semis slicks and bigger brakes.

well been a while since i updated.
Cars been stalling alot randomly. And the tune just didnt seem right.
Part throttle and starts were terrible.
Decided to take it to Ricol Automotive to get the car checked out.
Found out that there was a bad earth and one of the wires were broken at the ECU.
Colin fixed it all up and also pulled out another 5kw and fixed up all the throttle problems.
Car drives perfect now.

has some port work
but to wat extent im not sure.
i dont think its that crazy
i believe he just matched it to the inlet manifold.
in future might try for even bigger cams and some more aggressive porting.
would need to change the SNC though i think, just to be on the safe side.
