Well the route has been finalised!!
In rain and 'pea-soup' fog I finalised the run for 8 July this morning!! Several mountains and heaps of twisty roads, no bone shattering pot holes and incredible views [I think!!]
In a 6-speed Corolla I don't think I have ever changed gears so many times
Only one road that I wanted to use that had a little too much water over it!! Not worth the risk really
Sure, most of the roads have been used before, not sure in the manner I have put them together, so make sure the gear change arm is 100%
Yes, the fog was so thick visibility was at times down to 20m, maybe less! At one stage I was hitting max of 15-20kph and quite concerned what could be coming the other way, so many drivers who either can't find the headlight switch or simply don't care!!
Start will be Bunya Park off Old Northern Road, a couple of 'pit stops' for those that drank too many coffees before start time, a nice mountain morning tea location, another 'pit stop' and then lunch at mary Cairncross Park in Maleny [Sunshine Coast Hinterland]
From start to finish distance is approximately 135km
Feel free to PM me for further details as we get closer to the date

Why didnt you come on Bris chapter run today?
We certainly had plenty of fog on Glorious and Nebo.
Great run though!
Yours has plenty to live up to...no pressure though
(wouldnt be hard to beat the terrible lunch on todays run though )

Dreaded 'lurgy', so not going near anyone!! Perfect opportunity to finalise the run, I was unsure how recent rain has impacted on roads, all OK, never hit a pothole!!
Would have loved to be there but with forecast for tomorrow being even worse, best do the job today - one creek was a little TOO deep, we all know the one!! It pieced together well, actually made a few little changes along the way adding better roads
Was going to call it 'Mountain Madness' then realised that was yours & Lisa's!! So 'Maleny Meanders 2012' will do unless someone comes up with a better one
Denise emailed me back and said a great roll-up today given the weather, that's awesome Stu !!
Funny how you get used to driving those roads in an MX5 then try to replicate in a Corolla!! No, doesn't work!! Like a dollar for every gear change today!!
This run will have two 'comfort stops' along the way, how many times do we realise we had ONE coffee too many before the start, then 15 mins in we go 'OMG!! where????' I know one where I counted the km's to morning tea wondering would I make it there
Will be a good run MINX and excellent for lunch as well

Looking forward to the run. I attended Roger's run last year and it took us on a few enjoyable routes I never would have visited otherwise.

Ummmm .. yes, looks familiar!! If you enjoyed the run earlier this year that finished with lunch at the Dayboro Pub then you will really enjoy this one too! All good roads, plenty of twisting stuff but just hope no fog like I had this morning, I will try and upload [download?] iPhone pics I took and post to this thread, man it was almost impossible to drive! One stage I stopped and you didn't see a car coming until it was maybe 20m at max from you!! [I was well off the road as well!]
