Probably the best Mt Glorious run I've ever done, no "slowpokes" holding things up and we had the mountain run to ourselves.
The run was perfectly timed too, on Saturday morning we had fog but Sunday was perfect, I suspect that most of us drove to the meeting point topless despite the very early start - gotta love QLD weather at this time of the year.

Re: Minx Mad Morning Mountin Madness Run 2012
Thanks everyone that came along
What a great set of roads and magnificent Qld winter weather.
We took the long way home, via Mt Mee, and couple hours on the beach at Mooloolaba
Just got home. Fantastic driving day.
Here are pics of the 16 cars that did find the start point, rugged up a bit at just after 6am

Great run Lisa and Stuart. Fabulous run through the mountains. Everyone drove to
their individual comfort zones and safe within the legal limits! Just an update, for
those who are looking for info on where the runs start - check out the new website
and in the calendar on EACH event the following appears along with a view map.
eg: yesterday's run: Hoop Pine picnic area Sir Samuel Griffith Drive, Mt Coot-tha UBD Map158 H10.
If you aren't checking the website - probably a good reason to when runs are on.
Cheers and thanks guys. Lovely Mother's day start.

Re: Minx Mad Morning Mountin Madness Run 2012
I've been a bit slack on posting this and the next club run is tomorrow, so here's a Google Earth view of the run based on GPS data provided by an attendee: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/61951837/20120513_Mx5ClubRun.kml
* You will need to have Google Earth installed on your computer.
* Save the file to your local machine and double-click on it, or start Google Earth and load the file.
* The Starting point is shown by the green pin and the Finish by the red pin.
* To hide the "Pin Points", uncheck the Positions checkbox.
* To toggle the route line ON/OFF, toggle the Route checkbox.
* To see details of each "Pin Point", click on the pin.
FYI: If you're wondering why some "Pin Points" are missing, it's because I don't include them if they're too close to the previous point (eg. when you're stationary, there's no point in plotting every pin).

Is the run still on today, given the weather?

Re: Minx Mad Morning Mountin Madness Run 2012
Here are a few pictures of today's club run. Despite the weather, as many as 19 cars turned out for the run. We have to have the top on during the first half of the run. The top came down during the second leg after morning tea.
For the 19 cars we have
1 x red NA, 1 x silver NA, 1 x white NA
3 x green NB, 2 x gold NB, 2 x silver NB, 1 x titanium silver NB, 1 x maroon NB, 1 x blue NB
2 x red NC, 2 x silver NC, 1 x maroon NC & 1 x grey NC
Start of the run, traffic was heavy and slow going due to roadworks in progress.
First stop for morning tea.
Checking out the green NB.
Group 1 headed off to the lunch stop - 120km away.
Final stop for lunch, they serves delicious crusty hamburgers.
Ideally, viewing all these images on video is much more enjoyable. I hope to get one (GoPro) sometime in the year after I clear some outstanding debts.
