I need some tyre help

It's seriously time to replace my tyres, the tread is all but gone and I find that it is getting seriously dangerous in the wet. I have Pirelli P6000s fronts and Yoko s306s on the rear. 185/60/14, stock wheels.

- most likely never going to track the car
- not concerned about road noise
- I have been doing a lot of long distance freeway driving
- it's a daily but I like to drive fairly aggressively and have been known to go on a lot of twisty bashes
- have to be decent in the wet (melbourne weather)
- would like them to be economical but its the least important thing

I don't really want to spend a small fortune either, obviously.

Which tyres fit the profile and where can I get them?

There are MANY treads covering this topic already. If you perform a quick search (found top right of screen) you will find a lot of the basic info.
If you still cannot find what you need after a search, feel free to post back here with a more specific question.

I'm searching too, but I posted a topic because I've never bought tyres before so I thought I could get some more specific help.

You don't get much choice in 185/60R14. Buy whatever you can.

OR buy some 15x6.5 wheels and get 195/50R15s. Also a dieing size, but not uber rare like the above size.

RE001s should be good. You'll appreciate the grip and suppleness after those horrible S306s.

Grip will be nice haha!! The tread was so far gone that any hint of a hill and water meant spinning those horrible things

I had RE001's on the car when I bought it. Loved them so much I replaced them with RE002's - great tyre, especially in the wet. I'd recommend these.

You found a set of 14" RE001's? I thought they stopped making them.

How old are they?

Well, the tyres are brand new but I don't know when they were produced.

Tyres and alignment are still great, after driving many hours in many conditions.

All tyres are produced with a serial Tyre Identification Number (or serial TIN) that shows the date of manufacture of a tyre (See Figure 1&2 below). The last three digits (for tyres made pre 2000) or four digits (for post 2000 tyres) of the serial TIN indicate the week and year that the tyre was made. For example, Figure 1 below shows a tyre made in the 37th week of 1995 and Figure 2 shows a tyre made in the 12th week of 2004. Also a tyre made in the 1990's can be distinguished from a tyre made in the 1980's due to a triangular indentation after the last number which is not present on 1980's tyres.
