Removing rear hub
Guys,
In the process of replacing my rear wheel bearings on my NA8.
I'm having a lot of trouble removing the rear hub from the cv shaft.
I have the cv shaft nut off, rear rotor off, upper and lower control arms removed and a puller on the stub axle but nothing!!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I recently purchased a diff setup where the half shafts came attached to the upright. Took it to an engineering place and they had to apply 12tonnes of pressure AND an oxy torch to free them.
Otherwise, stick the nut on, and give it a good hammering with a mallet. This WILL mess up your nut, so have another spare. It may possibly mess up your wheel bearing as well, but shouldn't matter, as you are replacing them.

Do you have a manual? I would not just let loose with a hammer. If you go to Mazda spares you could look at the exploded view to see if there is something not removed or check a workshop familiar with the car.

Once you have removed the hub nut, and the attachment of the half shaft to the diff it should slip right out. Once it is loose you should drop the upright (remove brakes and top bolt) to get more room for removal of the shaft.

So walloping a nut with a hammer is a good ploy? A nut is screwed to a shaft and the shaft has a thread- so you run the chance of damaging the shaft for no result. Have the wheel bearings failed or noisy. If you have not got a proper instruction process or an exploded drawing then I would stop eg is there a snap ring inboard?

The spline on the axle can virtually weld itself into the hub. There were no snap rings or retainers on the axles on my cars.
My NA6 ones released after an overnight soaking with WD40 and a puller - with just a gentle knock with a light hammer to jar the axle loose after it was under load from the puller.
However, I purchased a NB torsen diff and the axles were well frozen into the hubs. The nuts and thread had been hammered by the previous owner, stuffing the threads. I pulled the driveshafts out of the diff with the hubs still attached, then it took a couple of days of soaking in lubricant then a high pressure hydraulic press at Carco to get them out - a hammer/puller would never have moved them. It then cost me a bit to get the threads/axle ends repaired

My problem is just that!
The splines from the CV Joint are siezed onto the hub.
I have soaked it in WD40 put a puller on it with heaps of pressure!
Even heated the area with a propane torch and NOTHING.
I've booked it into a workshop; it will cost me money but get done.

Both front hubs on my people mover had the same problem and took them to a local engineer, one of them took about 20tonnes of pressure to pop out.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

I couldn't even get the hub nut off mine.
soaked in WD40 for a week.
Heated and cooled with the blow torch.
I resorted to the old put the jack under the spanner method....... it just lifted the car rather than move the nut.

For some reason a lot of mazda cv's gets stuck on the spline, I normally soak them overnight if they are really stuck, give it a few sharp blows with a big hammer and if that still doesn't work, try pressing them out them out, but when you put it all back together, use some anti seize on the splines and it will make it a lot easier next time.

I'm having the same problem trying to remove my rear hub nut so I can replace the rear wheel bearing.
I have the 32 mm socket on and a 1 m cheater bar. i put the car in 1 st gear with the hand break on, but it won't budge.
The front bearings were really easy even for an asian person.
I want to send it to a shop any recommendations. I'm in Melbourne....

Get a steel pipe to put over the breaker bar to get extra leverage, Good luck.

He was trying to get the 32mm nut off the driveshaft, then he will probably need that tool to get the shaft off the hub
