At one of the mining companies I do work for, one of the bloke fabs parts for 4x4. Any way long story short, have you got a cad of the cage.
He's just getting/got a new pipe bender. Pretty much said I could knock myself out and build one at his place. Can't be that hard.
I was just planning on adding onto the roll over on my cage.
Let us know what you think?

You have my attention. I haven't done too much with the cage lately, and wouldst be able to do anything for a few months as i have just started a new job. I would be keen to help you do some stuff with yours in the mean time.

Put the 6ul's on it today (15x8, yoko advan ao48's) and went for a bit of a ride. Steering is a little heavier with the tyres, but nothing major. You notice the play in the pinion more when your stationary and initial turn in - there is a little 'lag'. I'll hopefully go see the welder sometime this week, although i am loocking into some of the locktite compounds as well.

The tyres, new springs and steering make the car amazing to drive :mrgreen:

On Sunday I entered the Ipswich West Morton Auto Club Autocross http://iwmac.org.au/. It is a hard packed dirt track. Sailaholic convinced me to enter - A massive thanks to him for helping me out for the day! It is a good practice for driving the car at its grip limits with out the speed, but the track is hard enough that it begins to rubber up throughout the day - some of the evo's had the tyres squeaking - but the rained rolled in just after lunch and they red flagged it :evil:

so we only completed 3/6 rounds

Each round consists of a standing lap and a flying lap.

I started off on my bbs's (185/60R14) as the track was a bit wet due to the early rain and they would have had a better chance of get through the soft top surface. I took it pretty easy and got...

I quickly (<5mins so not F1 speed - yet) swapped to my advan's (205/50R15) for the second round and took it easy again...

A quick drop of the rear tyre pressures before my 3rd round, chat to a few of the other guys about corner entry and i was a bit more confident to take things up a notch.

I am very happy with the last lap as I still think I drove pretty rubbish so there is heaps of room for improvement. In the class (1600-2000cc, 2wd, NA), the guy that one it (ford laser, BP engine) had the following times, 1:50.6, 1:42.7, 1:41.8. The fastest car on the day, Evo 6, had 1:42, 1:34.1 and 1:33.9! So quick!!!

But yeah, the rain ruined the rest of the arvo and everyone packed up and head home to watch the F1.

I re-did the tie downs before leaving home to make them look more secure. The tyres wouldn't budge though.

Not much been happening.

and went to the dirt sprints on sunday. 6 runs, best run counts. A big thanks to my mate Pat for helping me out! Took me a while to figure out the car - drove well rubbish, but picked up some pace towards the last run. My best was a 1.47.2. Results are here http://iwmac.org.au/

Can tell you didn't borrow my jack! Look how low it's sitting at the back compared to the front!

Super jealous you got to run, i was convinced i would be out there this time around. How's the the big ticket items comming ;)

Also, bug me to do cams forms if i ever get back to brisbane for more than 2 days......i'll get rick to bug me as well.

haha - yeah - too lazy to go get your jack. half tempted to grind the seats down on the small one so i can fit it under the car. Still needs more low though haha.

Oh - you should get cams license

Big ticket items?? still waiting for the next big ticket item so i can install it!
