Hey guys, just a quick question regarding the collapsible spacer. I am currently replacing my crown and pinion gears to a 4.8 final drive on my NA, Is it possible to reuse my stock spacer? I know it is a one time use only sort of thing. But has anyone done it before? what can go wrong if I do reuse the old spacer?
Cheers

Re: Collapsible spacer reusable?
Hi.
If you are going to reuse it which is not advisable you have to count the number of turns needed to remove the flange nut and tighten it down to the same number which is useless in this case as you are using a different internal part. Just take your old one to a diff shop and buy a new one.

Hi ralt,
Thanks for your reply, I went down the a diff specialist today and they've advised to add shims. Which I later then bought. All put back together now, backlash and preload all set
can't wait till it's on the car
