Just having a look at my Championship standing and also at the times from Monday, interesting that it is so close! Below are best lap times from Monday

(seems pretty close to my recolection of the odd glance at the tacho and speedo, my scanguage showed max straight speed of 172 kph on the day, but that may be a littel farther down the straight than the gps point)
Maximum Lateral G -0.77
Maximum Lineal G (braking) -1.08

Short Straight 144 kph (4th)

So, I need more powa or less drag! I'm getting very similar speeds to you except I'm only making about 130 approaching turn 6 and 160 at the end of the main straight. :(

JBT, your already in 'Modified' NC class, go the whole hog and Cosworth!

Thanks for the gee up about the *almost* lose Roger!
I was certainly working fast to catch it, three seperate lift off oversteer slides catching the wrong 'apex' (just like Mark said I would in the briefing :roll: ) and didn't run out of track! The heart rate was well up and the eyes buggin' out... :D
To help other's put the online face to name, I was the big unit in the NB- green with dull silver stripes no 77 on the day. I hope I didn't annoy anyone coming to grips with a pretty fast car first time out...
Let's just say the car was a lot faster than the driver till it popped an intercooter pipe (as I worked out last night!)...

We have a convert!
For those that were there, everyone notice Scott in the white Ralliart Lancer?
First time at track - just spoke to him and he still hasnt come down from the rush.
Had a fantastic time and really enjoyed our crowd too.
He was super impressed with how fast MX5 are on a track.
Just watched his phone cam video, and he wasnt messing around, tyres squeeling on every corner!
Although they were cheapy chiny rubbers.

Anyway -He is now looking on Carsales for an MX5 Track pig!
Wanting non road registered toy for track work only.

PM me if anyone knows a cheap, reasonable track car in Bris to reccomend
he was looking at this

Actually, if I could hold higher speeds around the track with the power it has I could do better than 68s. So I need more grip which I'm sure I could get with a set of BCs and some semi slicks. However, I can't justify $3000+ to pick up 3 or 4 seconds. Maybe I'll just get some semi slicks when I wear out the road tyres.

Rich, not a problem, I know you flew past me like 'impressive' but then I was watching the tail wag from side to side out of 2!! You did a great job and while I thought about taking you at first, discretion won, stayed back and let you fly on!! It's all part of the game!! Hope you didn't mind getting moved up a few times but best to be running in a Group where most are similar speeds, easy done as you saw

Look forward to seeing you and the crew at Lakeside 23 July next

Me? I think you know but anyway the slow old '%%%%%' in the silver NB #141 :D

Almost 40 years ago I was timed on a sundial then graduated to a calendar, so BIG bonus now to actually be able to get around like I do :!: :!:

OTHER MAKES CHAMPIONSHIP

As most are aware we are supported every track day by drivers who do not have an MX5

To thank them for their valued support of our days a Championship has been established this year, one class only all in together with a point score being 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 for 1st down to 10th each day and beyond

After 3 rounds the points are as follows:
