Great day out at Marulan. The weather was pretty miserable for the drive down, but it was dry all day and some sun & blue sky broke through around midday. Several MX-5 drivers got to try out my PerformanceBox and recorded the following best times:
Alex 46.95 (ideal 46.69)
Hayden 45.67 (ideal 45.66)
Alex again 47.22 (ideal 47.13)
Sam 48.17 (ideal 48.12)
Scotty 46.19 (ideal 46.16)
Hayden again 46.00 (ideal 45.23)
Allan 46.06 (ideal 46.06)
Alex did a great job keeping up with the turbo boys, thanks to excellent corner speed! Not bad for KU36s.
Highest topspeed recorded was 122km/hr by Scotty and Allan.
A quick comparison of the four best laps is shown below (sorry Sam, I could only plot four laps at a time). Click on them for higher resolution.
Blue = Hayden 45.67
Black = Allan 46.06
Red = Scotty 46.19
Green = Alex 46.95

Thanks for sharing your box today!
Great data, love the overlaid info
Also worth noting the NA non turbo with the hankook r spec slicks running 44.5s, non forum members but very quick through the twistys. Timed with astopwatch on pit straight.

Stock na8 on the hankook "semi" slicks haha!
Though their timing was so inaccurate.

Hey Guys,
Awesome day yesterday and loads of fun. Was great to meet you all, and would be keen on coming along for any other track days or weekend runs you might have.
the completely inaccurate but still loads of fun iphone CMS lap timer had me do a best of 44.7, with a big disclaimer that this has been timed at 1/2 second innacurate against proper timing equipment so it would get me in the low 45's
but those guys in the stock na8 were having a ball and great fun to watch.
Keep in touch and catch you all soon.
Justin

Good to meet you too Justin,
If it's half a second out it could also be a low 44!
I'm thinking of doing the Monday sprint at Wakefield next month, if I get tyres in time.

Hey guys, thanks for coming and making such a great turn out!
Good to meet new people as well as check out some other mildly modified ( )5's.
Cheers to Bryan who was our Chief Data Engineer for the data; the performance box data is great!
Also big thanks to Hayden and Justin who let me have a ride in their turbo vehicles; I am definitely getting a snail in the engine bay later down the track!
I'll post some videos up later but for now here's a sneaky pic from yesterday.

Re: MDTC Sunday 20th May
Hey guys,
That was a lot of fun and the track was a pleasant surprise.
More of a challenge than I expected and well suited to MX5's.
I especially loved the uphill right hander at the back of the circuit.
Thanks to Justin for the tip on the iPhone lap timer and to Bryan for
a go with a real one.
Good to chat with everyone too.

Re: MDTC Sunday 20th May
Better late than never! Managed to pull myself away from Diablo 3 for a bit to upload these videos.
(Skip to 0:53!)
No idea whats going on with the green line down the center; just using the standard Go Pro tool. Anyone have any tips for uploading Go Pro videos at higher quality? Tried to use Sony Vegas but it tends to crash/doesn't like the Go Pro files.
