Re: Victorian Motorkhana Championship 2012
It's ON
6:30am Sunday morning and the weather forecast is not that good, however the event hasn't been cancelled or postponed.
At least we won't get bogged getting into the ground this year!
I'm thinking this one won't be a great showcase for Motorkhana
I'm meeting up with a couple of other competitors for breakfast at the BP Service Centre near Officer
Plan is to head to the grounds about 8:30

Thanks Bob for showing Troy and myself around the motorkhana today. We thoroughly enjoyed it and we will be back. As for my poor driving today I hope I have room for improvement

Glad you enjoyed it.
Although not a true representation of a day at least it was consistent.
Only doing 6 test may not sound like much, however most took in excess of a minute each!
As for your poor driving.
I sincerely hope both you and Troy don't improve at all!

The practice at Bendigo was a great day.de Bounce wrote:Practice Motorkhana
A number of the regular competitors have got together to put on a practice Motorkhana scheduled for Saturday the 19 May.
Bendigo Sale Yards, Huntly on Bitumen
We left Melbourne in the rain and returned to rain whilst Bendigo was clear and fine throughout.
With only 20 participants there was more opportunity than ever to have a run and try different methods.
A few of us even tried different cars!
There were also experience competitors providing guidance and feedback including demonstrations if required.
I believer everyone went home well and truly satisfied with their day.
Next VMC event is Round 4 run by the Peugeot Club on the 17th June at Pakenham on dirt/mud.

Re: Victorian Motorkhana Championship 2012
A bit of a late post but we had an absolute blast at the Bendigo practice day. 3 Nb's and a Na turned up with a mix of other cars and motorkhana specials. With a small number of entries everyone got to keep running until either they ran out of fuel or broke their cars....needless to say there were no Mx5 breakages which meant more runs for us
Here's a few photos from the event.

The only drama that we had was that my son (13) kept nudging a flag every now and then and we couldn't work out why. It turns out that he was guessing where the front of the car was, time for a pillow to sit on for the next event.
Thanks Bob for the pointers and coaching. It would be great to see some more '5s at future events.

With two laps to go then the action will begin, unless this is the action, which it is.

My brothers neighbor races in these events I think. Do you ever see an older guy driving a celica? Mid 80's or early 90's model. He has about 4 of them, and some have turbo.

Don't get too excited about this one. I heard a few days ago that the ground at Pakenham won't be usable for events until July/September at best. It's a lake right now
I'm heading to a PAC club meeting tonight and will post an update later.

As far as I know he is not one of the regulars in Group 5 or the VMC.lightyear wrote:My brothers neighbor races in these events I think. Do you ever see an older guy driving a celica? Mid 80's or early 90's model. He has about 4 of them, and some have turbo.
Most of the competitors are old ish although someone turning up in a Celica is rare!
