Queanbeyan to Canberra

Postby br3w » Thu May 17, 2012 2:41 pm

Okay it's not a long drive  But if you turn left at Hindmarsh, join up with the Monaro and then onto Morshead Drive/Parkes Way for some quick roundabout action, through to the GDE and then end up at Haydon Drive. In the mornings I can get to work in 21-22 minutes with only 2/3 traffic lights, lots of left-handers and most roads set to 80/90 km/h.

Thanks marty, what google maps doesn't show... no fixed radar traps :) and I have done this route hundreds of times now and never seen the fuzz (early in the mornings at least). Not that I go over the posted speed limits, I find driving the mx-5 any speed over 60 feels like you are in a F1 cockpit!

I have a friend who lived for years at one end of that trip, and worked at the other end ... and owned an MX-5 SP. He was often happy. :-)

If your MX5 is stock you may stuggle a little bit, but with a frisky engine it's a great climb.

Yes, that Duntroon roundabout westbound is my favourite spot for some nicely judged cornering  ...

I never met a horsepower I didn't like (thanks bwob)
