Patchy's Labour of love

Postby StanTheMan » Thu May 17, 2012 8:53 am

Time for an update.
Patchy is a former shadow of itself. All the go fast bits have been taken out she's pretty standard ish . She's been neglected big time. Can't recall last time she got a wash. Last time she was dríven in anger was about 2.5 - 3 years ago.
Last few months she's been sitting in a street 20 min away from where she's supposed to live with a dead battery.
You could say I've suffered car burn out in a figure of speech. Too many other things taking my attention like kids growing up. The business & the focus on midlife health & the MTB racing.
I think my MTB is worth more than Patchy in a monetary sense.
However I've been driving around in a 1995 Mazda 121.....
Got back into Patchy for the first time again on last Sunday morning to drive her home.
Far out. The notchy gearbox, I could feel the rear wheels doing their work
The steering OMG.

Same again this morning decided to drive part way to work....,

I think I'm ready to be slowly taught how to crawl again. So one day I can walk again. Not sure if I ever want to run again. Perhaps a slow jog but never the sprinting u used to get up to. Getting too old the balls have shrunk & probably dropped by 10cm

Stan's bus rant's since 2011. Now on 4S

Apart from that MTB as in "Mountain Biking" is a recognised acronym. So there. Get with the program.

If it makes life easier then just think of MTB as an abbreviation of Mountain Terrain Bike as ATV is All Terrain Bike
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

 modern cars, my 121 "funtop" was 1988, could drive that car harder than any other without the dirty looks I get driving the people mover below the speed limit. Pizza cutter wheels and lightweight body, great fun to drive.

You've obviously no use for them anymore, if you're willing to take a blade to them :P

Happy high pitched squealing as you go around the corners
