Pure white daisy wheels on a red NA

Yep will need an alignment. Changing the springs isn't that hard but like Hks said dangerous as hell. I had a cheap set of compressors, one slipped and shot off with a fair amount of force. Treat it like a power tool, lots of respect and don't put your face in its possible path and you should be ok. Quality compressors are the way to go, one set will last a lifetime
With two laps to go then the action will begin, unless this is the action, which it is.

I think it's going to look great!! When you do it don't be lazy like I was with my old orange wheels and take the time to clear coat properly.. Easier to clean and the brake dust won't eat into the paint and ruin the wheels (orange looked terracotta after a few track days)

Pulling a spring and shock out is quite easy DIY with a decent guide... Maybe 2 hours work in and out at home providing there are no seized bolts. Could take it somewhere to get the springs fitted and save labour. Regardless I think you'll be disappointed with lowered springs with stock shocks on an NA. There is no travel in the rear when lowered so the car will be bouncing off the bounce stops as there won't be enough compression/rebound in the shock so the car will handle interestingly on bumpy roads... Maybe look into some cheap aftermarket shocks and look into the Fat Cat bump stops?

Thanks for the advice Ben, I'll have a think about it... One side of me thinks about handling, the other, the look of a lowered mx5!! (someone burn me)

Just a little work in progress - I'll do finished mounted pics on my garage thread when it does finish.
