Pure white daisy wheels on a red NA

A lot of people seem to go black wheels on red NAs, but I thought solid white daisies might pull it off..Thoughts?

Absolutely! I think that works really well, bit more of a racer look.
With two laps to go then the action will begin, unless this is the action, which it is.

I got matt black 6UL's on my NB, 15 x 7.5 - NB8A is Highlight Silver and thinking of having the alloys done either orange, lime green or bright yellow! Just thinking!! and also 2 x 250mm dark silver/titanium stripes right over it - hmmmm, like I said, just thinking :D

Those on the NA's look GREAT!!!

I'm feeling a lime green for that for sure.

I always liked white rims on red cars - hopefully painting the daisies white won't make it look too small.

Anyone got pics of themselves sporting coloured daisies?

Thanks! I like it, it looks pretty decent does it not?

Needs lowering though for sure.

Actually onto that topic - I got a set of king springs in the boot of my car that I want to install. Though, I'm feeling that if I go out and buy spring compressors, it might cost even less than the actual labour costs of having someone else do it.

Anyone here who's a guru on installing springs on a NA and would be willing to lend a hand / give some guidance?

(Based in Sydney)

Spring compressors ~$50
Workshop quoted installation ~$200



It's not a difficult job, just time consuming (would be a lot faster with multiple sets of compressors.... but then it gets expensive)

Look on Miata net, there's a few guides to removing shocks etc.
The long bolt method I've found works great.

Forgot to add, (obvious, but will say regardless)

As well as the spring compressors you'll also need:

4 Jack Stands
Spanners (can't remember sizes)
Ratchet and sockets (not 100% necessary, but easier than spanners alone)
WD40

And I'd highly recommend a Torque Wrench to do everything up the correct amount.


And a safety message:
When you have compressed the springs and are about to remove the top hat, ALWAYS point the shocks away from you (and brace the opposite end against something)

If the compressor slips, or fails in some way, the spring will shoot off the shock with a great deal of force behind it. Enough to kill you if it gets you in the head.

Ouch, suddenly 200 doesn't seem so expensive :lol:

I much like my face the way it is. I guess I didn't think of the tightening it up to the right amount with a torque wrench either... I don't have one of thosr . Also I'd imagine I'd need an alignment too.

Alex, that's Sassos car isn't it? I remember those rims suited the car so well. Maybe it was why I subconsciously wanted to do white rims.

Well previous posts have convinced me, I'm going white. Starting tonight, stay tuned!
