Cat backs are generally the same for NA6 and NA8, so it should.

I finallyyyyy got around to painting my front intakes.
There was a fair bit of prep work involved because they are resin moulds and had a lot of swirls/unevenness.
After numerous coats of primer and sanding...

I have colour coded TSIs 8)
oh and a gloss black front tow hook.

Fully Synthetic Engine Oil
Choosing what oil was like the hardest decision of my life lol, it seems to be running just fine though.

Brakes
The previous brake pads were "Sumitomo" and they were rubbish. The front discs were really worn and had a huge lip.
Picked up a set of Hawk Performance Ceramic pads and a set of DBA T2 Slotted Rotors.
Image
Also a full set of Goodridge ADR approved Stainless Steel Braided Lines

My dad helped me with retracting the calliper pistons

I was surprised how easy it was to change everything over haha, but I chickened out of bleeding the brakes  and took it my local mechanic to change over the brake lines.

I took all the stupid backing plates off because they didn't stay in place and were constantly squealing, now its all good and wow does the car stop! I am very pleased with the set up, it is very responsive and works in the cold/wet! which the other set up did not so well.

Car looks really clean, sometimes i wish i owned an older MX5.

Just curious, why the Penrite? and why the 10 50?

Cheers

Love the ARC! Is there any noticeable difference in performance or noise?

Performance no.

Due to the removal of the helmoltz chamber the intake gets throatier.

IIRC I've seen a dyno chart of a before and after, the chamber improves the midrange slightly, at the expense of low, and top.

And when I say improve, it was by an incredibly tiny degree, something like 1-2hp. Which to be honest, is so tiny it could have been normal dyno tolerances.

Here I was thinking you'd gotten married and all that working on your car has given you tough, manly hands!

This is the inter-webs, thus there's no guarantee that Emily is a female (she might be a big burly trucker).

Hey...what's wrong with female truckers? Lisa Kelly on Ice Road Truckers, hmmm? Plus I had a couple of female ex-colleagues - one was also a trucker from Canada, and another a lumberjack! A what?! You'd never pick them!

I should add, great work Em!

Well I had heard good things about it, and wanted to go fully synthetic because it breaks down with km's dríven rather than time, as the car doesnt get dríven very much at the moment. I was after 10w40 but they didn't have it, but the bottle says it can be used where other grades are required. Engine seems to be running quieter so meh.

something that is shiny and comes from Japan clearly adds at least 17kw
Haha nah just looks pretty, probly sounds nice but I can't hear anything over the stupid exhaust.

Lol thanks for that Bryan :|

A few special people have met Emily, and she isn't ugly or manly at all. (don't get a big head from this mate)

there's nothing hard about bleeding brakes/changing brake lines, just takes two people.

I did it by myself, made a DIY vacuum setup because I didn't have time to do the gravity bleeding method.

I find it funny when the general male consensus get so surprised when a chick knows how to change brake pads and actually work on her own car.
