Qld Mt Glorious driver oponions
Ok another trip up Mt Glorious last night. Just a few too many bottoming out scraping on my car.
Currently kyb agx shocks set on setting1, springs not sure what they are or what spring rate.
My question is for qld drivers who run up glorious, do you have similar issues. and if not what is your suspension setup.
cheers novice1 aka ron

Ron
I have KYB AGX with 'King' springs in my NA B-Spec, they are set on '4' out of the eight settings, ride is fine! They were on '5' when I bought it, was a little too firm but find '4' excellent for highway cruising and stuff like that
NA runs 15 x 6.5 King 'zero' alloys with KU36's and tyre pressure is 31-32psi cold

Re: Qld Mt Glorious driver oponions
My kyb,s are only 4 click adjustable. I checked them this morning only to find none of the shocks were set the same. One was on one, two were on two and one was on four.
I had set them all to one. Ghosts, goblins. Can,t imagine any sort of driving would cause shocks to be altered. Needs a solid turn, click to change manually.
I suspect ride height may be an issue and possibly need stiffer springs. They are all now set at 2. Will see how it effects handling.

Just out of curiousity, how high are you in front and rear? (centre hub to wheel arch please since that's what I use)
I'm wondering if you are in fact just too low?

Re: Qld Mt Glorious driver oponions
Ron, i recently raised Minx about 10-15mm sick of bottoming out on stuff
Quite a relief to not have to worry so much. I miss the 'low' look but as a DD it is much better.
Have about 110mm clearance now on frame rails
So can negotiate speed bumps easy

Only road i've bottomed both out on is 'Campbell's Pocket Road' up behind Caboolture on the run to Mt Mee - last club run up that way I think almost every car did the same!! I've hit that causeway many times in the NB and bottomed, last time was in the NA, so didn't worry too much when I found out how many others did the same! MINX should know it, on the run back for lunch to Dayboro

Re: Qld Mt Glorious driver oponions
There are two places to bottom out on up there - the first is on the corner where Jolly's lookout entrance is, coming down the hill, and the second is just before Mt Nebo township coming from Mt Glorious, after all the "20km/hr" corners - I think it's a tree root under the bitumen and there is often road works barricades there, so I think it is a constant problem. Slow down and take the smoother line through both, and no problems... 100mm ground clearance on both current car and previous one. Tein SS's and Bilstein PSS9's.

I think you better explain exactly what you mean by "bottoming out".
You either mean you get tyre rubbing against wheel well/guards,
or the lowest part of the middle of your car (exhaust/frame rails) hitting the road.
I think you mean the former.
I don't know if you've had your guards rolled, if not, check the inner lip of the front guards/wheel well and see if there's any flared points due to the tyre catching on it.

Drove this route this morning, and the two previously mentioned areas seem to have been sorted recently.

Nope, you just weren't going through it fast enough
There's also another place, about 3 mins after Jolly's (heading to Brisbane), it's the 3rd right-hander that has guard-rails. It used to be a massive dip, now it's a massive hump.
