Does this mean it won't work on an MX5?
Or even worse, an MX5 would need one fro each coil? (Costing $280)
Oops, hadn't read that bit, so double the price for a 2 coil NA/NB MX5 to $140 for the Jaycar solution.
Also just found later stuff on miataturbo which would probably work out eventually to around the same price when it arrives but would also give you the voltage boost.

Re: ignition coils
you would need 2,one for each pair of coils, but you would also need the hand controller to initially set it up.

Re: ignition coils
Want me to do a run of these dwell reduction boards? It will probably work out around $15 each for the PCB.
I'm interested in a couple for my own use anyway.

Re: ignition coils
Same, I'd be up for one.
Assuming it works on a completely stock NB8A and stock ECU (obviously not stock coils)
I presume the Tacho will still work perfectly normal with COPs?
I read somewhere that the Tacho gets it's signal from the stock coils, so going COPs can make the tacho stop working?

Re: ignition coils
Tacho gets signal from the ECU (on the NB, anyway). NB8A coils don't have a tach pin like the earlier NA8 ones.
I will get the board printed from the gerber file available from miataturbo.net, so it will be sold unpopulated and as is.

Awesome Seb! I'll be in for one as well
With two laps to go then the action will begin, unless this is the action, which it is.

Re: ignition coils
I'm in the process of getting some quotes. I may end up getting them fully populated, I assume this would be preferred?
It would be as per the schematic on miataturbo.net but using a TS914 opamp in place of the LM324.
