Turbo NA-6.8 Build
Ok thought Id start a build thread, Ive got over approx 3 years of photos so ill just post the main ones of the build and post some pics of what im building and doing next with the car.
Here goes,
This is how i purchased the car, it was in need of some severe TLC, paint was faded, engine was a bit tired. It had a good basis for a build, Motec, bigger diff + brakes, JR supercharger. In all honesty I think I would have been happier with a cat back and CAI instead of the JR gear. Every time i stepped on it car made a nasty whine, it was whining for a turbo
Out came the motor
Ordered some fast bits
New coat of paint while everything was stripped
Motor build in the process with my first manifold/turbo combo. All rotating assembly balanced including flywheel/clutch.
Motor mated to 6 speed ready to go in
Started work on the interior also.. Cusco cage mounted
To be continiued...

Hey Dann, Nope first setup was an Artech log, + 2876R. For the dollars the manifold was the cheapest and reliable at the time. I had the turbo from a while back too so thought id make use of it but it lagged bad as it had a .86 rear and the motor had low comp. It was like that for a while till next mani/turbo.

I meant artech.

Abe, not Tim haha. They are both MT.nets fabricators haha.

Re: Turbo NA-6.8 Build
Yah its an artech piece, they are both excellent fabricators.
Yep it was a good starting point, but as time progressed just upgraded bits and pieces. Your engine bay looks very sick in its current form charlie

Re: Turbo NA-6.8 Build
Motor In
Interior coming together, I got onto trident tech support and got them to do a parts search for oil pressure switch 1/8npt to go into my Tee for a unit that opens ciruit when oil pressure moves above 12psi. I wired an LED strip to the switch and mounted it into the instrument cluster cover so in the event of low oil pressure during racing the LED strip will light up its nice and bright and hopefully might save me a motor.
Exhaust finally sorted after many dramas and huge hole in my pocket.
550cc injectors with dual feed rail in and run in tune was complete with 5k rev limit. Gave the car a wash.
After the exhaust dilemma, i went and bought a tig welder. Layed my first birdshit welds on stainless lol
Setup # 2
Absurflow manifold setup, also slightly smaller turbo ATR28G2 Hypergear unit, equiv to a 2871 wheel.
Some Time had passed by now with the welding so I fabricated a 3" turbo back dump pipe with lobster bends to suit the Absurdflow.
Back purged to avoid sugaring with the stainless...
Completed
Fitted with without any issues
Painted cam cover with crinkle paint.

Re: Turbo NA-6.8 Build
Hey Dann,
Yah I do but I didnt have it when i built the dump. I used my abbraisive chop saw and a flap disk on my angle grinder to clean up and a burr on the end of my drill, took forever to build haha

Re: Turbo NA-6.8 Build
Thanks
sorry no vids yet, will make sute I get some once I make a few changes...
Ok here is a turbo comparison between a Gt2876R , Hypergear ATR28G2, and S13 T25 lol. The wheel size is almost the same between the first two.
Moved onto wheel/tyre/suspension. Went with the konig wideopens 15x8 +25 as I just dont like the 6UL's. Tyres dunlop direzza star specs in 205's. Suspension Tein SS with NB top hats ( Thanks to ROB E on the info at the time)
