Re: Hoodedreeper's Eunos Roadster
Geez that looks good, especially since you used a roller. I guess it's true, Englishmen make good painters
If I ever get a car in need of painting, I was going to go a matte military green, with either high-gloss or matte black racing stripe/s and white pin-stripes.
Are you going to continue the military theme? eg. faded/weather-worn insignias, distressed paint splotches.

Re: Hoodedreeper's Eunos Roadster
I keep getting told by numerous people to do a camo pattern, but it'd have to be done proply otherwise it could go horribly wrong! Distressed insignia/symbols/logos sounds good, but again it'll need to be the right ones other wise it wouldnt work.
I quite like the the plain look,as i was used to seeing the busy Digi Camo patterns, its nice to have abit of a change

Re: Hoodedreeper's Eunos Roadster
Update!
Superlites got masked up and scotched ready for paint,i quite like the matte blue!
Then Paint! (funnily enough i used Black Stone Chip)
Although they're dry, gonna let them 'bake'. These wont be going on till Sunday
Next up was to cover and strip the car ready for the harness bar
Harness Bar cut and lined up ready for welding
Side brackets welded in place
Metal tab welded ready for the harness
PAINT! Originally i started to brush it on,but found it ALOT easier with a spray gun
Seat back in and Harness fitted
Fire Extinguisher fitted
While the paint was in the gun we gave the Hard Top a coat to get rid of those roller marks

Re: Hoodedreeper's Eunos Roadster
MASSIVE UPDATE!
Sunday just gone (29th April) i went down to Norfolk Arena for a Drift Practice. The track was extremely wet and muddy, but it was the best and most fun i've ever had. The car performed great as always,as the addition of the bucket seat and harness certainly improved things.
Big thanks to Mark for the photos!
End of the day she looked like this (the colour around the side repeater is the actual paint, the rest is mud haha)
Heres a video of the MX5 i put together
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2VJn7xST44
Slim Quick Release Boss Fitted
I also started to work on the boot lid. I got another boot lid to chop about to save ruining my current one
Top Skin
Frame fitted to the car:
Carbon Skin bonded on

Fitted the boot lid today so thought i'd whore out with some photos
Also made some Carbon Fibre door cards from 2 sheets of carbon. Made templates and cut them out with an angle grinder and dremel. Also bought some Leather Door pulls from a guy on MX5 Nutz, which finish the door off a treat!
Also fitted some new gaitors

Re: Hoodedreeper's Eunos Roadster
Great looking roadster bud!
From a watch of the first half of your vid plus another one when the car was white with graphics, I noticed you don't use the handbrake at all... Any reason? I have a NB brake upgrade with normal handbrake (no hydro) and seems to work ok.
At a recent entry level drift day I found a quick stab of the handbrake on those snappy transitions was enough to catch those spins that you can feel coming. They certainly are a tricky monster to get consistent laps in. Using first gear won't do you any favors either use 2nd everywhere on that layout.
Loved the vids, keep the tyres frying and the house of pain pumping!

Re: Hoodedreeper's Eunos Roadster
With the welded diff i dont have the need to use the hand brake. But like you said,i think a quick pull of it on the tighter corners might help, will give it a try at the next one thanks!
I do use 2nd gear, but it happens to show 1st in that video cos it was the better footage from the day

I also removed the stickers on the drivers side and fitted a new one
With the Hard Top Spoiler on,it should just about clear it and still be visible
