Postby luke__ » Fri May 04, 2012 1:24 am

Are you trying to get more or less camber?
You can buy more offset bushes to allow for more adjustment in the lower arms when you get a steering alignment, or you can buy adjustable top arms to help you even more.

I have adjustable top arms in gtr front and back. Mind you these are aftermarket arms.
Sometimes I wonder why i have different taste to others??? Then I realise its because Im not a sheep

This page should give you all the info you need, and then some. The images about 2/3rds of the way down have instructions for camber adjustment.

I've been working at Beaurepairs for 2 months, so i can do it properly. I'm pretty sure i was adjusting the right thing. One of the two bolts on the rear wishbone is the toe adjust and i'm pretty sure the other is camber it just wasn't doing anything. Moved the bolt 180deg and it did nothing. Maybe my car was in a accident or something idk lol. I asked the other guy at work and he was confused too. I flicked through http://www.miata.net/garage/alignment/index.html at work on my phone but i didn't have time to do it and it wasn't showing all the page anyway :( I'll try again tomorrow if i get time.

i also appreciate that you're basically warning people not to take their cars to beaurepairs... cheers for that.

That is scary to think that you can adjust the camber after the toe and keep the toe settings. They haven't taught you how to do a wheel alignment yet have they? Do you do the front desk or the admin?

Please let us know which beaurepair you work at so we know not to go there. If your boss was reading this, well...

Completely taken out of context. I ment i can do it properly with cameras, not the string and level way in the link. My beaurepairs is pretty sh*t too lol i recommend not coming to it.

it's basically been said and shown to you, but both LCA mounting bolts are known as "camber bolts" and adjusting them will give you camber and toe.

adjust one side more than the other and you will get toe in/out and a change in camber also, so you use adjust both bolts to get the toe setting you want and also however much camber you want.

Bumping this cause i tried again, found out my camber washer was mangled. I took a pic of it but i gotta try find the cord to plug it into the computer. (I don't have and iPhone  ). I'll probably go to Mazda on Monday to see how much they are, or where else can i get replacement ones? Most likely change my bushes aswell. Any specific ones you guys recommend?
