Ride height suggestions

BARMY the SE has Tein Flex coilovers. As he's no longer for sale he needs to be back down to a better ride height. Any suggestions as to what height? Same front and rear, bearing in mind I prefer to have no understeer?

whatever you are comfortable with. only you know the car and the driveways you use.

I went with way low. This looked great and also performed really well at Winton even on the bumpy bits. But, however I adjust the stiffness it's sooooo bouncy on the road that I sometimes have to slow down to be able to steer and control the throttle. So I'm going higher again to get some travel back. Also I won't make the front as much lower than the rear this time.

In a perfect world I'd find the correct balance between controllability at the track and making it so a passenger is prepared to sit in the car on the road with me without either of us suffering back damage.

Jacking the car up now so any thoughts appreciated to save me just guessing again.

12" front and 12.5" rear seems to be the safest "low" you can go. I'm a little under that.

Just keep the rears 0.5" above the fronts, the car was designed with that differential in mind for optimum handling. Good-win recommends 0.25" though.

Discovered that my spannerman had not just wound the shockers lower but had also wound the spring rate adjusters as hard up as he could get them so there was virtually no spring travel! No wonder I was overheating tyres and going quicker than usual - and breaking my back. And that'd also be why it was such good fun when it rained.

Won;t be going to him again.

100mm to pinchweld. Looks tidy and high enough not to scrape.

The lowering is now done correctly, by winding the whole shocker tube down into the bottom mount and putting the spring pre-compression back to normal.

The adjustments were only a couple of inches each but have made all the difference.

Looking at other comments on the interweb it seems I could even adjust individual corner weights by a combination of ride height, spring pre-compression, and maybe damper settings.

Anyone in Country Vic with scales?

I have it at 12.5 front, 13 rear. but I'm scraping at almost every dip because I also have a Garage Vary front lip
