Off topic again, but I was impressed by your custom dial work.
Seeing as you are into the brushed aluminium look, you may be interested in these.
Just the dial rings and the glass, the faces are one owner's personal thing.

Whats cool is they do away with the clear plastic cover and the instruments have individual glass bezels, just like vintage roadsters.

Miata.net were having a group buy. About US$160 shipped.

I like your head unit. Is that a trim around it that's suits the MX5 surround, or is the double din the perfect size and shape?

It's a standard Double-DIN unit that has a bezel insert/overlay that covers the screws that mount the head unit into the "cage". The bezel came with the unit.
