If you can, make sure to get quotes in writing.
That way they can't come back and say "oh, you just said a high price to ƒü¢k us over"

It was covered earlier- you might have a show at a small claims tribunal but sorting it out directwith the business is the best approach-not sure how long sct's takes. I would be amazed if the Police would take any role at all.

^This.. I had a ke70 corolla with 4age conversion and all the good bits, got it ready for roady dropped it off at the place with a full tank at 8am thought it shouldnt take more than 2 hours.. Never got a call so i called them at 12 and they said they were doing it now appart from the fact i saw it on the hoist in the air at 8:30am.. At 5:30pm i finally get a call saying the car is done but it failed, i go to pick it up and it had less than a quarter of a tank of fuel and a week later my head gasket blew and i never overheated it.. Ever since this i have been very, very careful with who i leave my car with so they dont destroy it..

All done. I took it back there at opening hour and they put it straight on the hoist and I told them what to do while I watched the whole job from start to finish. From now on I think I will just stay and watch in future. It's the only fool proof way to make sure you get what you pay for.

They were really good at fixing their mistake and I'm no more out of pocket as well. All done and dusted. It's really refreshing to see a business actually admit fault (even though they insisted it was me initially) and fix the mistakes they made.

rad, i get the feeling they weren't exactly rude about it.
every time i've dealt with those guys for smaller things like gaskets and hangers they just give it to me for nothing.

Yeah they were tools on the phone but in person they were really nice and helpful. Guess the lesson is to just go in face to face first.

Also as a bonus, this thing went from being drony and loud to an awesome quiet tone with no drone just like the TnC muffler!!!!! I can't believe the difference the cat makes. Plus no more petrol smell is always a good thing.

That's good to hear they fixed it with no issues. But they really should of done as you requested originally.

I reckon they left your job to the last and then rushed it.

Grhhh I hate people who do that to me But I can also see the other picture and see why people do it but it still annoys the living hell out of me

So... Turns out it's not fixed :roll:

Welds split on one of the new hangers I had put on!!!!! Now it sways like nobodies business and has to be fixed. I know I should just go back and make them fix it but I've had it with those guys... I've booked it into another shop now and letting them fix it for me.
I've decided I'd rather pay and have someone fix it right the first time instead of having to drive back and forth everyday finding out something else is wrong.

Oh and I noticed that they cut another one of the new hangers too long. It's on the midpipe and is on an angle. Basically, one end goes to the hanger bush bit on the car, the other end sits out towards the road maybe 20mm lower than the resonator and drags on every speed bump.
My car is about 110mm-115mm to pinchweld so it's not exactly that low!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So hopefully tomorrow is the last time this thing gets fixed. Never had such a headache over such a simple job. I seriously wish I knew how to weld, I'd rather do this myself....

Wow now I realise how lucky I am with my local exhaust shop.
taken my mx5 to them twice to get odd exhaust work done and both times the work has been great exactly what I asked for and cheap to boot.
they werent even fussed when I came with my own cat.

It's amazing how we have to lucky just to get the services we require! I have been blessed with fantastic service for whatever I need done. I also do my research before I go ahead with things like this, but it shouldn't be pick and pray affair...

Hope your exhaust is done and dusted and never again have shoddy jobs done, whatever the car may be
