I have a 2008 NC with the factory Blue Tooth handsfree phone option.
Most of the time it works flawlessly with my HTC mobile. 2-3 times a year it stuffs up. The problem is it does not connect and the bose system refuses to put out sound even though it otherwise operates as per normal. It is as though the car thinks i'm in a phone conversation and has permanently muted the bose unit.
I took the car in to the dealership when it first happened and they had, 'no fix' for the problem but were able to reset the car which solved the problem- i lost my radio presets of course. I can solve the problem by disconnecting and then connecting the battery.
Is there however a way to do this without disconnecting the battery? I was thinking perhaps reseting a code or the whole car through an OBD2 reader (like PLX KIWI on amazon) using an android application like "Torque" or some similar priced/free windows software?
Or is there another fix to this problem which does not involve changing to an entirely new in car sound system?
Thanks in advance.

Try pulling the fuse on the radio. You lose the radio present but should fix it. Is there a better adaptor available they're easy to fit

Sailor, i know i could look it up but i'm sure you can help me much quicker.... which one is the radio fuse? its somewhere in the fuse box near the air intake box right?
Do you mean OBD2 adaptor? If so, i'm not sure, but i've read on forums that many people like the plx kiwi ~$90aus but many have same results with the cheap $15aus elm 327 dongle.
Cheers

I doubt something like that will throw a code because it's car audio related
I think the BT unit is a dud and should be replaced if still under warranty
Otherwise your other option is to remove that BT unit and put a different one in
Grom Audio units with there Bluetooth adapter is a unit I highly recommend but it isn't cheap
