Just waiting on one last tiny fitting coming via australia, post.
Regular post shouldnt ever take more than even a week within Australia right?

The filter might end up in a different spot, Ive got plenty of pipe fab an intake wherever Joe wants it.

You can also see that I now have all of the lines.
-Solid hardline oil feed
-Oversized T28 braided stainless oil drain
-Large braided stainless water lines

Just one fitting to go, and Joe can come over and get this fitted up.
I have to fab some intercooler piping on the day, including some reducers, I have to taper some pipe down from 2.25" to 1.5" also because he is running huge intercooler piping.

Hey Dann
Is there any problem taking the oil from the back of the head instead of the side of the block
looks like it would be easier to get to, It's a real bugger getting to the one down on the block
Is the thread/fitting the same?

Gday alan,

if you check the above pics you will see a skinny metal tube, thats the oil feed, and in fact does go to the back of the head as seen in photos on previous pages.

The fitting in the back of the head was acquired at a brake shop and it aprox 10mm but is a taper thread, something like 1/4 npt.

By memory the block is 10x1.5mm.

Such a sexy dump pipe, top work Dann!
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Looks like a fitting date on next saturday, as tomorrow is my Bday and Im working this weekend.

Should be good. Perhaps some other little supporting bits will be added first, then off to powertune.

Here we go... 50 odd images.

Thanks for looking.

As the day started, a bit of a mess around and removing the stock exhaust.

Image

Then some trial fits to check air con clearance.

Image
Image

Here is the custom water routing pipe I threw together in the moment to clear the huge oil drain I opted for.
Its aluminised steel (1.25 inch exhaust pipe) and on the inside it will corrode at the same rate as the other stock pipe it runs to on the right, and the cast iron engine block, before any smart alec asks why it isnt stainless or alloy.

Image
Image
Image
Image

A look from behind, showing the water return hose. later this is covered with fire sleeve, heatproof sleeve for the rubber protection. No kinks, and nothing rubs at all. The right hand hose is the water feed.

Image

Painted up and being tightened. The small diameter water hose to the left of the dipstick you can hardly make out, is the water feed hose.

Image

This image show the fire sleeve, and where the water feed comes from.

Image
Image

Some more of the water lines.

Image
Image
Image
Image
Image

Intercooler piping.

This is 2.25 inch, or 60mm, but the turbo outlet is 40mm. Im using 2 inch from the turbo, necked down to 40mm, and necking this 60mm down to fit the 50mm.

Image
Image

This is done by cutting a V into the pipe, clamping it into a cone with multiple hose clamps, then tack welding it together, removing the hose clamps and fully welding it. You can see it gives a great flowing transition, and it looks professional.

Image

Freshly tapped oil return, this is about 16mm. Would you believe perfect fit, and doesn't touch anything.

Image
Image
Image

The rest are heaps of shots of everything else!

Image

MASSIVE DUMP!
As its been said, everyone enjoys a massive dump! And you can see the factory narrowband taking temporary residence in the bung I included.

Exhaust needs a touch up. It was rubbed on everything on the way in and out a few times, and this paint bakes on, its basically a powder when it sprayed on before heat!
