Fender flares

So i just got my flares from go miata and I was wondering if there's anyone in Melbourne that has fitted flares to an mx5 before and is willing to give me a hand since I'm not good at body work, it would be greatly appreciated

Its not 100% yet we still have to cut the guards but mounting them was alot easier then I thought

thought id bring this thread back to life instead of starting a new one.. Im about to order the same flares but in carbon fibre. but does anyone know the legalities of flares particularly in SA? how much lower are the wheel arches compared to stock?

Not sure about the legal side of it I didn't really pay too much attention to that but it terms of how low they sit it depends how you fit them, mine ended up sitting slightly lower maybe 1cm-2

4.3.3 Mudguard Flares
Flared extensions may be added to original mudguards. There is no restriction on their design
or size, however, the new section must be securely fixed, the ends tapered back to follow the
body line of the vehicle and the exposed edges must have a radius of at least 5mm. The shape
of flared mudguards must ensure that there is no likelihood of the tyres contacting the vehicle
body or any other component under all operating conditions.

very interesting, doesnt say anything about cutting into the original guards though, ill ask regency tomorrow and get back to you guys.

Great info. I wonder if the trick is in changing the track of the vehicle rather than the flare itself.

Of course it is. Flares are 100% legal, its the wheels people use with them that arent. there was a flare legality thread recently where I answered the same way.
