Hi All,
Just a quick question, I'm planning to install my Car PC into my new SE, but I'm hearing that the Mazdaspeed (USA's SE) has a BOSE sound system installed in the car. I haven't pulled out the console yet, but I was wondering if anyone had, and could tell me if it's the same in our SE?
Hopefully it's not as I don't fancy mucking around with new speakers at this point, priority is getting it in and stable, then upgrade the rest of the system
Thanks,
Sam

Re: BOSE system in SE?
No, we were lucky and didn't get the BOSE system so there shouldn't be any issues re-using the factory speakers.

Re: BOSE system in SE?
Can anyone outline the differences between the Bose system and the "standard" audio setup?
I know the tweeter's magnets seem bigger (I have some SE bose door skins).

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Re: BOSE system in SE?
The Bose stereo I pulled apart had 2 tiny amps mounted behind the dash.I think they were 7.5 watts each. Bose paper cone mids and I" tweeters.
Better than standard but still crappy. (don't get me started on the price car companies charge for supposedly upgraded Bose audio)
Pretty much any aftermarket 6" splits for $200.00 + would sound considerably better.
You do get the nice chrome Bose emblems on the speaker grills. That's actually the best part.....
Richard.

Re: BOSE system in SE?
Awesome, so glad I don't have to deal with that!
Will hopefully be putting in the CarPC this weekend, just temporarily with the old amp + speakers, upgrade them once the system works
Thanks guys
